A MESSAGE

FROM THE CEO
I'm thrilled to extend a warm welcome as we dive into the heart of summer, a season brimming with energy both indoors and outdoors.
As we celebrate the vibrancy of this season, I'm delighted to share some exciting updates about our ongoing sitework construction project. Our commitment to enhancing our community's experience remains steadfast, and we're making significant strides towards this goal.
If you've recently visited our premises, you may have noticed the bustling activity on-site. These renovations are part of our mission to create an even more inviting and accessible environment, particularly for those with mobility needs. We're dedicated to ensuring that everyone who comes through our doors feels welcomed and supported.
Our renovations include enhancements to the flow and functionality of our clinic space, ensuring a seamless experience for all visitors. Additionally, we're thrilled to introduce a dedicated exit that leads to a serene post-service waiting area, overlooking the picturesque outdoors. The introduction of healing gardens further emphasizes our commitment to providing tranquil spaces for relaxation and reflection.
As we embark on this exciting journey of growth and renewal, I'd like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all recent graduates within our community. Your hard work and dedication have not gone unnoticed, and we wish you every success as you navigate the next chapter of your journey.
As we embrace the warmth and energy of summer, both indoors and outdoors, I encourage you to take advantage of the opportunities for rejuvenation and connection that this season offers. Whether it's spending time with loved ones, exploring the great outdoors, or simply taking a moment to recharge, I hope you find joy and fulfillment in the days ahead.
Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm as we strive to enhance the well-being of our community.
Warm regards,
Andrew Hill
Dear Esteemed Wellness Waves Readers,

SHERI FARNSWORTH
A Passionate Advocate for Compassionate Care
By, Kitara Johnson-Jones
Sheri Farnsworth, a native of Western Washington, brings a unique blend of personal history and professional expertise to her role at Excelsior Family Medicine. Growing up in a small rural community, Sherips formative years were spent on her grandparentsp 80aacre homestead farm, where she learned the values of hard work, integrity, faith, and compassion from her grandmother. Her fond memories of harvesting hay, milking cows, and picking sunaripened raspberries are more than just nostalgic recollections. they are the foundation of her character and dedication to serving others.
Sherips grandmother, a beacon of strength and compassion in her community, deeply influenced Sheri. mShe was that neighbor who would reach out to the widows and the people who had sicknesses,n Sheri recalls. These values were further ingrained in Sheri as she helped her grandmother navigate serious medical challenges, including cancer and a heart valve replacement. These experiences not only solidified Sherips commitment to healthcare but also highlighted the complexities and challenges within the healthcare system.
At Excelsior Family Medicine, Sheri aims to bridge these gaps, ensuring that patients receive the care and support they need. mBeing at Excelsior really gives me an opportunity to close those gaps where someoneps uncertainty can create indecision,n Sheri explains. She acknowledges the monumental task of reforming the healthcare system but believes in starting small to make meaningful changes. Her focus is on connecting physical and mental health services, providing a supportive environment where patients feel secure and understood.
Sheri emphasizes the importance of individualized care, recognizing that every patientps background, influences, and body chemistry are unique. mOne size does not fit all,n she asserts. At Excelsior, the goal is to listen to each patient, understand their goals, and create care plans that truly resonate with them.
In her role, Sheri continues to embody the values her grandmother instilled in her, advocating for compassionate, patientacentered care and striving to make the healthcare journey less daunting for everyone she serves.

SPLASH SPLASH SAFELY SAFELY
A Guide to Water Safety for All Ages
Water – The ultimate summer playground. Whether it's a backyard pool or ocean waves, aquatic adventures are captivating but require prioritizing safety for all ages. Here's how to ensure every splash is safe.
Foundations of Safety: Supervise young swimmers diligently. Never leave children unattended, and designate a vigilant "water watcher" for constant oversight.
Learn to Swim: Every year in the United States, there are an estimated 4,000 fatal unintentional drownings. Enroll children in swim lessons early to build confidence and competence. Proper instruction ensures safe and enjoyable swimming experiences.
Know Your Limits: Respect your swimming abilities and environmental factors like currents and tides. When in doubt, swim conservatively. Buddy System: Always swim with a companion for added safety and support, whether in a pool or open waters.
Respect the Elements: Stay informed about weather conditions and potential hazards. Avoid unfamiliar areas and heed lifeguard warnings.
Life Jackets Save Lives: Wear properly fitted life jackets when boating, kayaking, or paddleboarding. It's a crucial safety measure.
Emergency Preparedness: Equip yourself with water rescue and first aid skills, including CPR. Know emergency response protocols and have communication means available.

Prioritize water safety to enjoy aquatic adventures with confidence. Here's to a summer of safe swimming and unforgettable memories!

Volunteers Needed Support Spokane C.O.P.S.
In 1992, Spokane Community Oriented Policing Services (C.O.P.S.) emerged as a beacon of hope in the wake of a tragedy. Two teenage girls vanished from the West Central Neighborhood, prompting the formation of this non-profit organization. Since then, Spokane C.O.P.S. has grown to encompass eight shops across our city, serving as vital hubs of community engagement and safety.
Spokane C.O.P.S. invite you to join us in our mission to strengthen the bonds between law enforcement and the community. Volunteers are the lifeblood of Spokane C.O.P.S., and they are in need of individuals who are passionate about making a difference.
