irst, I would like to say, "Wow!" What an honor, 2 years in a row. Thank you Bartlesville! When it comes to making the right call in sports, Kevin Lynch has more than 25 years of experience as a local high school basketball and football official. Kevin approaches his full-time vocation as a real estate agent with the same devotion and intensity — which is why he was voted of the Best of Bartlesville Real Estate Agent during a recent major E-E readers’ poll. “I am dedicated utilizing my experience, knowledge, professionalism and ethical behavior to provide exceptional customer service, and striving to gain and keep the respect and trust of my clients and community,” Kevin said. Kevin Lynch RE/MAX Results is located at 1809 SE Washington Blvd., where Lori Oller and Amy Whitmarsh provide quality ownership of the business. Assisting Lynch in his mission to provide outstanding service is Sara King. Lynch derives his greatest pleasure

from the respect and trust his clients repose in him. “They know I am going to do everything in my power to make each transaction go as smooth as possible,” he said, adding he appreciates the “excitement and joy I see from my buyers and sellers when they close on their home.” To Lynch, every person he serves is a MVC — Most Valuable Customer. “Each and every customer is important to me,” he emphasized. “The best customers are the ones that I build a lifelong friendship with. That’s what this business is about. Building relationships and trust.” But, it’s not only the customers that brighten Lynch’s day. “I owe a lot of my success to the my

One senses family — whether his own flesh-and-blood, his work associates and customers, or the community in general — is extremely important to the awardwinning Realtor. He believes his dedication and willingness “to go the extra mile for my customers from the beginning of the transaction and even after,” is what sets him apart. He recalled his a former college professor at Oklahoma State that told him: “It only takes a little bit more effort to set yourself apart from the average person.” Lynch said he has lived by that creed. READERS' CHOICE BEST INNOVATIVE WORKPLACE & PHYSICAL THERAPY BARTLESVILLE PHYSICAL REHABILITATION

T

he best treatment for physical setbacks is to move forward. That’s why the qualified staff at Bartlesville Physical Rehabilitation is dedicated to improving the mobility of patients and relieving them of pain. Physical therapists at the regional practice have been helping patients with physical conditions for more than two decades at 4100 SE Adams Road at the Quarters in Bartlesville. Alan Henley, chief executive officer, is proud of his exceptional staff, who have been consistently selected by E-E readers as the best physical therapists with the best customer service for more than 10 years. “We are extremely excited to have received the honor of being labeled as Bartlesville’s Best Physical Therapy again. We have been fortunate enough to have received this honor multiple times over the years and it is a real acknowledgment to us that we are indeed and consistently doing a lot of things right, said Henley. He said the practice is the only locally owned and operated physical therapy clinic in Bartlesville. The staff specializes in physical therapy for all ages with the most current and up-to-date treatment techniques for

treatment of orthopedic, neurological and vestibular issues, as well as edema and headache management. “It also allows us the freedom to tailor make a program for our clients without the corporate or big organizational interference so often present within such entities, said Henley. The clinic also offers aquatic (water) therapy in a therapeutic therapy pool to assist those patients who

are unable to tolerate a land based treatment regimen. “We are very proud of the care we provide and take great care to ensure our patients receive the absolute best opportunity to fully recover from their condition and be able to return to their normal activities of daily living, Henley said. Indeed, clients come from a 50-60 mile radius to reduce or eliminate physical pain. Henley encourages residents to take advantage of the center’s free assessments. And it’s that type of customer care that keeps patients coming back to the professional and friendly facility. Henley said one of the best parts of his job is developing friendships with BPR patients. “By far the most rewarding part of our job is having the privilege of working with and observing patients that come to us with a disabling and often times a very painful condition that is now leaving their treatment program pain free and able to carry out all their activities of daily living, he said. “The friendships that are created along the way are very special as well. BPR is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. More information can be found on Facebook.

But, Valarie’s parents remain involved. “It’s been a role reversal because they come back and work for us every Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day, Valarie said. “When you’re delivering flowers, you’re making people happy. There’s obviously the sad occasions, too, but still flowers help ease the pain a little bit. Flowerland also has kept up with the changing technology advances in servicing customers. The friendly Flowerland staff helps combine the age-old tradition of giving flowers with the modern way of shopping. Customers wishing to save time and travel expense can order online on the store’s easy-

to-use website. This is a quick, but efficient, way to place your order. The website also is mobile friendly, making it convenient to use tablets and smart phones to purchase your flowers. In addition, Flowerland is a member of the floral wire service company (Teleflora), which allows delivery nationwide from a brick and mortar flower shop (nothing shipped). This service provides same-day service across the country. “The nationwide network of trusted florists can help send a thoughtful gift or remembrance anywhere in the country, Valarie noted. Flowerland is regularly on Instagram at Flowerlandflowers and on Facebook @ Flowerlandflowers. More information can be found at www.flowerlandflowers.com.

“A dozen rose arrangements is always popular, and a lot of people chose the mixed arrangements, Valarie noted. “We also offer plants, snack baskets, candy bouquets, balloons, plush animals and custom artificial arrangements. Poinsettias will be in rich supply for Christmas, she added. Interacting with the public brings additional satisfaction to the Flowerland owners and customers. “I love it, said Valarie. “We’ve got to know a lot of people we wouldn’t have otherwise known, so there’s a lot of connections. Valarie’s favorite customer connections are with brides. “I truly enjoy helping brides plan the flowers for their special day, she said. In fact, Flowerland offers free wedding consultations, by appointment. The business will handle the most simple to the most extravagant weddings. Valarie gave credit to the shop’s employees for why Flowerland has been consistently chosen as the Best of Bartlesville Best Florist. “Our designers, sales staff and delivery drivers are an integral part of our success story, said Valarie. “That, along with our great customers, make Flowerland Bartlesville’s Best.

S

ince 1972, thousands of Bartians have been able to sleep more soundly — or leave home more securely — knowing Glenn Security was on the job. That’s the year Ron Glenn incorporated his company to bring technology — backed by a human touch — to local residents. “I would say he saw the need for home security and the advancement in how technology over the years has changed, and how that technology helps individuals, whether commercial or residential,â€? Joseph Glenn said. For their professionalism, high-quality products and timely customer service, Glenn Security was voted by the community as the Best of Bartlesville in its field. “We’re most proud of the local support,â€? Joseph said about the honor. “We try to give back to this community. ‌ We take pride in our workmanship and we appreciate all the support the community has given us. We look forward to the future.â€? Although the technology has modified, the principles of protection and security are the same as when the company started. “The concept hasn’t changed,â€? says Joseph. Some of the differences include wireless technology and the size of equipment, he noted. “In the late 1960s or 1970s, the security system was activated by almost a light switch, which would turn on and off and basically arm the systems,â€? he said. “They would have a red light to show whether they were on.â€? But, individuals and companies now have the ability to arm their systems using a touch screen keypad in person or from their cell phones.

In the case of a company, “Now, the manager can see when that person really came in. ‌ Now you can know analytical data as to when someone disarmed the system,â€? he said. Many companies use security cameras “to protect against liability,â€? Joseph adds. “They’re there to give you a sense of security around you.â€? The catalyst for the growth of the industry relates to security concerns across the country and around the world, Joseph said. “We used to feel safe and secure, but unfortunately times have changed,â€? he explained. “We are here to provide you that peace of mind that is so important. Our caring staff of professionals understands that and will find a security solu-

tion that best fits your needs. Among the services Glenn Security offers are fire and burglary systems for residential and commercial customers and CCC television. They also provide water and oil sensors. But, some things at Glenn Security haven’t changed — such as the emphasis on one-day turnaround for service or installation. “We want to be able to make it there within a day and to complete our service and have our technicians make it home at a decent hour, he says. For that reason Glenn Security’s circle of service is roughly bordered by the Grand Lake area to the east, Ponca City to the west, Chanute, Kan., to the north and Tulsa and Jenks to the south. The general standard of distance is an hour’s drive. “Then, we have plenty of time to troubleshoot any issue and have plenty of time for our guys to get home, Joseph says. “We run the business like a family and we want our technicians to be able to be with their families. They are building a 6,600 square foot facility with all-inone service from monitoring to sales. Joseph is proud of their continued growth, "The new building will bring us the efficiency that will help us serve our customers better. With a new facility, it affords us the ability to offer ability to offer better service and better response. We are installing the newest, industry-leading equipment. We’re excited to be able to offer our customers the best possible security solutions in Cameras, Access Control, Intrusion & Fire Detection."

aybe it’s something in the sauce, but on any given day — or night for that matter — a downtown pizza place in the heart of Bartlesville is buzzing with happy, well-fed customers. Hideaway Pizza, an Oklahoma institution for decades, came to Bartlesville in 2014 and installed its pizza ovens in one of the city’s most historic structures, the former May Brothers Building (now Johnstone-Sare) at 100 SW Frank Phillips Blvd. Today, the restaurant is as famous for its friendly atmosphere as it is for creative pizza toppings and ExaminerEnterprise readers have named it the “Best of Bartlesville. “It’s an honor to be chosen the best of anything and we love it when we win these awards in the communities we go into. It makes us feel like we’re doing things right, said Janie Harris, Hideaway’s director of guest relations. “This just reinforces for us to keep doing what we’re doing and keep doing it well. Whether customers are ordering a take-out meal for a night on the couch or heading downtown to tackle a slice of a Big Country pie covered in layers of different meat and cheese toppings, the Italian import at Hideaway is hitting the right spot in Bartlesville. Each satisfying piece of made-from scratch pizza is topped with fresh, and often times, locally grown ingredients. “We try to source locally where we can. We get our mushrooms from J&M Farms near Miami, OK. We make our own sauces and our own dough. We are

always tasting and trying the ingredients to make sure we are providing the tastiest and freshest toppings," Harris said. The Oklahoma-chain restaurant, which first opened in Stillwater in 1955, also makes its own secret ranch salad dressing, which is consumed by dozens of diners daily. “We can sell that by the bucket, said Harris. “People love it. And along with enjoying good, quality food, they come to appreciate the professional and friendly staff. Hideaway Pizza even hosted a Summer Concert Series outside the restaurant for four years to give back to the community and get the people of Bartlesville used to coming downtown on the weekends to find out what was

going on! Harris is also proud of a three-panel, 24-foot-long historical collage of Bartlesville that hangs in the restaurant’s dining room. She described it as a showpiece displaying the rich heritage of the City of Legends. “To me, it’s like trying to connect to the community in a permanent way, she said. “I feel like it’s our job to be the next caretaker of that spot for the next 100 years and keep it going." "This year Hideaway is again sponsoring Christmas in the Ville and participating in the Green Country Christmas put on by the Chamber of Commerce, with some lucky person destined to win Free Pizza For a Year! And the kids who come into the restaurant and find the tiedyed Elf on the Shelf hanging about during the holidays will receive a free Christmas ornament and a chance to win Free Pizza for a YEAR as well! Lunch brings another opportunity for people to sample the Hideaway menu, including many salads, sandwiches and pastas, with a Mon-Friday lunch discount menu, making it an even better deal to try something besides your old standby pizza and try one of the 20 specialty pizzas on the menu that you have never taken a chance on! Carryout is offered for the entire menu and online ordering makes it even easier to have your meal waiting when you want to pick it up! The store offers half-baked pizzas as well, for those who want to take their pie home and finish cooking it there so it is fresh out of the oven. For more information, go to www.hideawaypizza.com.

READERS' CHOICE BEST DENTAL OFFICE GREEN COUNTRY DENTAL ARTS

W

hen you visit our office, your smile is our top priority. Our entire team is dedicated to providing you with the personalized, gentle care that you deserve. We strive to provide "dental health care" vs. "disease care". That's why we focus on thorough exams - checking the overall health of your teeth and gums, performing oral cancer exams, and taking X-rays when necessary. A preventive program is a cooperative effort by the patient, dentist, and dental staff to preserve the natural dentition and supporting structures by preventing the onset, progress, and recurrence of dental diseases and conditions. Preventing dental disease starts at home with good oral hygiene and a balanced diet. It is continued in the dental office by the efforts of your dentist and dental hygienist to promote, restore, and maintain your oral health. Prevention also includes regular dental exams, cleanings, and X-rays. Sealants and fluoride are also great preventive treatments that help protect the teeth. Prevention helps avoid seri-

ous and costly dental problems and is the key to having a healthy, confident, beautiful smile. Q: What should I do if I have bad breath? A: Some studies have shown that simply brushing the tongue reduced bad breath by as much as 70 percent. Prac-

tice good oral hygiene - Brush at least twice a day with an ADA approved fluoride toothpaste and toothbrush. Floss daily to remove food debris and plaque from in between the teeth and under the gumline. Brush or use a tongue scraper to clean the tongue and reach the back areas. Replace your toothbrush every 2

to 3 months. If you wear dentures or removable bridges, clean them thoroughly and place them back in your mouth in the morning. See your dentist regularly - Get a check-up and cleaning at least twice a year. If you have or have had periodontal disease, your dentist will recommend more frequent visits. Stop smoking/chewing tobacco - Ask your dentist what they recommend to help break the habit. BEST FUNERAL HOME STUMPFF FUNERAL HOME

“

We are grateful to be named the Best Funeral Home in Bartlesville again this year, remarked Scott Guynan Holz, General Manager of Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory. “It’s an honor to be recognized by the community we care for so much. 2019 has been a year of milestones for us, and this award really caps it off. In July, Stumpff recognized funeral director Ed House for being on staff for 50 years. “Ed is absolutely vital not only to our funeral homes, but also to Bartlesville. He’s a pillar of the community, Holz said. Holz also received the President’s Award from Veterans Funeral Care (VFC) this year. “Veterans are very special to us, he said. “They truly have VIP status at Stumpff Funeral Home. Holz said the firm owes its success to their first-rate staff. “I can’t say enough about all the exceptional professionals who work here, he enthused. “We are blessed to have so many good people who are genuinely committed to offering superior care. For instance, there’s Lindsey McClain, who after working for the firm for a few

years became licensed funeral director this year. “Being a funeral director takes compassion and a certain disposition to deal with grieving families at such a fragile time, and Lindsey has that gift, Holz said. He said another tremendous asset is Shelia Tucker, a Bartlesville native who has worked for the Stumpff family for 20 years. “She works mostly behind the scenes, handling the administration and operations of our business. There’s also Howard Evans, the funeral home’s

certified crematory operator. “Howard is meticulous and an expert in operating our equipment. A couple of years ago, Steve Walker joined Stumpff as a funeral director and embalmer. “Steve operated his own funeral home here in Bartlesville for 20 years, and so his connections and knowledge have been a real asset to us, Holz explained, adding that he and Steve have always been close friends. Funeral assistant Melvin Nichols also joined the staff last year along with

Les Watson, who is in charge of preplanning funerals. “Les’ knowledge and experience are invaluable, Holz said. “We believe everyone should take time to set up their funeral wishes in advance, which relieves a lot of burden for those left behind. Since 1966, Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory has served local families with compassionate care. They specialize in creating customized tributes to reflect each unique life lived. The firm also has locations in Nowata, Barnsdall, Skiatook and Hominy as well as three funeral homes, a cemetery and crematory in Tulsa. “I think it’s a comfort for families to know that no matter where they are, they’ll be cared for by the Stumpffs, remarked Holz. As experts in cremation, Stumpff owns the only crematory in Washington, Osage or Nowata counties. “We handle our own cremations, which means your loved one never leaves the shelter of our care, Holz explained. “It is important to us to personally care for the families we serve, so we never outsource our services. I think that makes us different.

BEST NEW CAR DEALER PATRIOT AUTO GROUP

e have all heard the saying the customer is king. Patriot Auto Group principal dealer Tatton Manning and the dealership’s employees really do put customer satisfaction first. It’s the reason the Bartlesville ExaminerEnterprise readers have voted Patriot Auto Group as the “Best New Car Dealer in Bartlesville for the fourth consecutive year. “What we want is for a customer to come here and never leave Manning said. “A lot of the time people think it’s about sales, but so many of those customers are service customers. If it’s a small issue-even if it’s not the manufacturer’s fault or our fault-if it’s something we can take care of and get them on the road we are going to do it. We can provide a loaner car, if needed. If a customer is waiting and a part didn’t come in quickly, we will get them some food or some lunch. We want to treat our customers the way we would treat our moms, brothers or sisters. Patriot Auto Group wouldn’t be successful if every employee from those in sales to those in service and parts didn’t work daily to make sure customers go home satisfied. “Every day our employees come to work. Our technicians get here at 6:30 in the morning and start work-

ing. Our service advisers get here at 7:30 and our sales representatives at 8 and they are the ones that do it every day. Being selected as the “Best New Car Dealer lets Manning know that “our vision for what we want is happening every day. Patriot also gives back to the community and is the main sponsor of The Night of Scholars and Champions, held annually in Bartlesville.

The event recognizes the area’s top students and athletes. Each month 12 participating schools in northeastern Oklahoma submit seniors who have an excellent grade point average, display community leadership qualities, active volunteerism and high moral integrity. A panel of judges reviews the submissions and two students are selected as students of the month. Those students will be honored at a spring banquet and will be eligible for scholarships and to win a new car, donated by the Patriot Auto Group. Manning said the selection of Patriot Auto Group as the “Best New Car Dealer in Bartlesville means a lot. “It shows that our vision for this dealership is working, Manning said. Customer satisfaction is the top priority at the Patriot Auto Group. As a premier Oklahoma dealer, they have a huge selection of new and used vehicles from which to choose. Patriot Auto Group online and offline customers enjoy special vehicle offers every day. They offer service & parts, an online inventory, and outstanding financing options, making Patriot the preferred dealer for Bartlesville, Dewey, Nowata, Pawhuska, and the surrounding areas. R

ussell Chiropractic Hand & Foot Clinic, Luxury Spa and massage therapist, Jennifer Holmes, round out a very inclusive service list that can have client looking and feeling their Best. Being voted Best in 3 categories is a great accomplishment. From therapeutic chiropractic treatment provided to relaxing massage services and rejuvenating spa treatments, this local Bartlesville clinic has something for everyone. Dr. Tracy Russell is a doctor of chiropractic and physician who has more than 25 years of successful experience in preventative health care and is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of many different hand and foot problems. He is a seasoned professional who keeps on the cutting edge of new and innovative procedures and offers a full spectrum of chiropractic care choices for all ages. After graduating from the Mally International organization for Carpal Tunnel and Accumulative Disorders and completing extensive education and training with world renowned hand and foot specialist Robert Fenell, D.C., of Chiropractic Hand & Foot Clinics of America, Dr. Russell expanded his practice from the Russell

Chiropractic Clinic to the Russell Chiropractic Hand & Foot Clinic in Bartlesville. “My focus is to help people regain normal movement in their extremities and to relieve any pain and discomfort they may be experiencing, states Dr. Russell. Think about how many times a day you use your hands. Whether grasping, reaching, typing, writing or manipulating objects, your hands are always being used. Because we use our hands so often, they can be susceptible to injury. For example, by carrying too many bags of groceries at once or by looping several bags around a finger, pulls your hand at awkward angles, therefore straining the hand and wrist. Another example is using a computer keyboard for long periods of time or writing a letter. Your hand may start developing numbness or tingling sensation. Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a condition that can cause pain, numbness and tingling

sensations in the hand. Some cases are mild and others severe. Left untreated, it will generally worsen over time. “Most foot pain is related to an abnormality in the alignment of the 26 foot bones. In an effort to get to the root cause of the problem, the best solution is to improve the alignment of the foot by using a gentle, specific joint manipulation procedure, states Dr. Russell. “The treatments I provide for my patients are far superior to other conservative treatments. Bottom of the foot pain can be related to several diff erent factors depending on the location of the pain and can include plantar fasciitis and heel spurs. The ball of the foot can become irritated or injured and become misaligned which will alter the foot’s ability to naturally distribute weight. People suffering from this type of pain will many times report that it feels like there’s a lump under that portion of their foot when they stand or walk. People

with flat feet or high arched feet often have pain on the top of their feet. In both cases the underlying cause of the top of foot pain is related to the misalignment of the bones in the foot. “So don’t limit your thinking when it comes to chiropractic. Chiropractic is about restoring and maintaining proper function and health to the spine — Yes — but also to other extremities’ of the body. Only a chiropractor can tell you if chiropractic can help your particular condition. By rendering chiropractic adjustments to the necessary joints, proper motion can be restored and healing can begin to take place, states Dr. Russell. The Russell Chiropractic Hand and Foot Clinic is located at 2523 SE Washington Blvd. in the Food Pyramid Shopping Center next door to Archer Cleaners. Front door and handicap parking is available. Hours of operation are Monday thru Wednesday, 9 am. until 12:30 pm and 3 pm until 5:30 p.m and Thursday, 9 am until 11 am. Most insurance is accepted. BEST NEW CAR DEALER PATRIOT AUTO GROUP

BEST CHIROPRACTOR RUSSELL CHIROPRACTIC

W

e have all heard the saying the customer is king.

Most insurance is accepted. hen you visit our office, your smile is our top priority.

Drink water frequently - Water will help keep your mouth moist and wash away bacteria, In most cases, your dentist can treat the cause of bad breath. If it is determined that your mouth is healthy, but bad breath is persistent, your dentist may refer you to your physician to determine the cause of the odor and an appropriate treatment plan. Schedule a visit with Dr. Brendon Swisher at 412 E 4th Street in downtown Bartlesville by calling 918-336-1262, or at Green Country Dental Arts at 918336-1030, located at 1820 SE Washington Blvd.

I think that makes us different.

aybe it’s something in the sauce, but on any given day — or night for that matter — a downtown pizza place in the heart of Bartlesville is buzzing with happy, well-fed customers.

BEST HOME SECURITY GLENN SECURITY SYSTEMS

BEST APARTMENT COMPLEX THE VILLAGE APARTMENTS

S

ince 1972, thousands of Bartians have been able to sleep more soundly — or leave home more securely — knowing Glenn Security was on the job.

We’re excited to be able to offer our customers the best possible security solutions in Cameras, Access Control, Intrusion & Fire Detection."

holidays. After Valarie’s parents retired in 2001, she and Scott bought the business.

“That, along with our great customers, make Flowerland Bartlesville’s Best.

istory is ambiguous as to when the first flower shop hung out its shingle open for business. But one thing is for certain — none of them have done it better than Bartlesville’s Flowerland. For nearly 30 years — since 1989 — this sweet-smelling enterprise has provided unforgettable memories of joy and comfort to local residents. Indeed, Flowerland is the shop for every season. They create vibrant bouquets for all occasions, keeping fresh-cut stems on hand, and is well known for colorful centerpieces perfect for any holiday or event. “When you’re delivering flowers, you’re making people happy, said Valarie McNeill, the daughter of Flowerland’s founder, Marsha Woodson, and co-owner along with husband Scott McNeill. They have fostered a long running tradition of being selected by E-E readers as the community’s best florist shop. Valarie and Scott have worked alongside each other for nearly 30 years. Petal power has fueled the McNeill’s even prior to their marriage. “We were still in high school then and were dating at the time, recalled Valarie. “Then we’d come back from college and worked for my parents during the major

More information can be found on Facebook.

irst, I would like to say, "Wow!" What an honor, 2 years in a row.
