Founded in 1922, Ewing is a fourth-generation, family-owned and operated wholesale distributor of irrigation and landscape products and materials. We are the premier source for water efficiency solutions, landscape and agronomic products, commercial and residential irrigation supplies, pavers, landscape lighting, water features, erosion control and more. Ewing maintains branch operations in more than 220 convenient locations nationwide.

At Ewing, you’ll hear the term “Number 8” a lot! This is in reference to the eighth point in our mission statement — Have fun doing it! We may work hard to serve our customers, but we strive to have fun in the process. Whether it be by serving food at a customer appreciation BBQ, serving our communities or assisting a customer on the jobsite, there is always something fun going on at Ewing. Having fun is how we create lasting relationships with our customers.

TIMELINE 1922-2020

1922

Ewing traces its modest beginnings back to 1922 and a small company in San Francisco called Atlas Lawn Sprinkler.

1948

King acquired the design and supply division, renaming it Ewing Turf Products.

1938

King W. Ewing joined Atlas, heading up the company’s design and sales efforts.

1963

Sue and Ray York, our second generation of family leadership, assume day-today operations of Ewing.

1976

Sons Doug, David and Richard York join Ewing as summer employees, establishing a third generation of family legacy. The company grows to four locations.

2005

Ewing opens 17 new branches and the addition of the Pacific Northwest region. With 150 locations, Ewing brands itself as the leading source for conservation solutions through products and education.

1996

Ewing expands its product offerings by adding industrial products and leads the industry in technology with the establishment of its original website.

2006

®

Ewing adds 15 new locations and launches the company’s OEM brand, Landscape Products.

2013

In April, more than 350 Ewing employees take to the field to complete an annual PRIDE project—an opportunity to give back to the community in a meaningful way.

2015

Ewing is awarded the Community Stewardship Award from The National Association of Landscape Professionals.

2016

Ewing appoints a dedicated champion of its culture and engagement efforts to further strengthen the close-knit “Ewing Family” bond shared by our nationwide network of friendly, knowledgeable employees.

2018

Expands into Northeast and the Great Lakes regions, and launches Ewing Landscape Materials, with 6 locations. Jack York joins, establishing our fourthgeneration family leadership.

Ewing serves green industry professionals, including maintenance and installation contractors, commercial contractors as well as public agencies, sports fields managers, golf course superintendents and more.

Big or small, our customer’s job is our priority. Customers rely on Ewing for business solutions, product knowledge, and troubleshooting. Our goal is to get our customers back to the jobsite faster, help get the project done on time the first time so they can say yes to more opportunities. Our founder, King Ewing’s philosophy, “Treat your customers right. The best advertising you can have is a satisfied customer “ is still as prevalent today as it was nearly 100 years ago.

COMMUNITY EFFORTS

At Ewing, we believe in the power of community service and giving back to the communities we live and work in. We also regularly provide support to numerous charitable organizations and community service partners across the country each year.

Most notably with our PRIDE Projects which are regional events held each year where Ewing selects a cause in need of support that has a special meaning to the company. We then provide assistance in the areas most needed. Our PRIDE Projects have included providing a safe, playable field for a school in Dallas, TX, a community garden that will help feed the local community in Houston, TX and a therapeutic outdoor space for Phoenix, AZ veterans at the local hospital.

TRAINING & EDUCATION

Education is one of the most essential elements to our success and plays an important role in our personal and professional success. We invest a lot of time, effort and resources making sure we have a comprehensive approach to education—one in which our employees and customers can be proud to participate.

• Development & Leadership Conference: Each year, Ewing hosts its DLCs with topics ranging from personal development and business operations, to sales skills and product lines.

• Ewing Education Services: Ewing’s team of national trainers travel throughout the country each year with the main goal of helping our customers grow their business. We offer numerous seminars to assist thousands of our customers and employees with skill building and business development opportunities.

• Hands-on Field Training: Employees also take advantage of regional hands-on training opportunities, such as paver installs, pond builds and more.

• Vendor Training: Ewing partners with select vendors to offer in-depth product training.

• Certifications: We encourage and support our employees in achieving industry certifications that will help increase their credibility and ability to succeed.

• Ewing University: We are constantly developing online courses on Ewing University, our online learning platform, specifically for Ewing employees. Topics range from Ewing operations, products and applications to marketing, sales skills and personal development.
