Our Sustainability Promise Sun faded and salt stained, we breath to escape the days where we can lean into the spray and explore the expanding horizons. We’re adrenaline junkies in search of the ones that broke us off, the thousand cast days and the summer binge. We’ll never stop seeking, chasing the light and exploring the blue. We pray to the gods of heightened heart rates, worship the hardcore thrashers and obey the rules of chaos. So here’s to those who seek relief in the touch of water, the sound of waves and the smell of freshly caught fish.
Our goal at Desolve is to be innovative and create sports and lifestyle wear that is of unrivalled quality. While doing this we want to remain socially and environmentally aware. Every product is driven by innovation and utilises cutting edge technology, design and production, to create incomparable comfort, performance, and durability. We use suppliers and processes that are gentle on the environment and minimise the consumption of water, chemicals, materials, and energy. We make products that last longer and put social responsibility above profits.
ProjectZER0 is our strategy to reduce waste. By simply eliminating the use of plastic bags all the way from production to the packaging and swing tags, we have saved over 4,700 kg of new plastic ending up in landfill already. We also chose to sacrifice the more polished look by using recycled materials, vegetablebased inks and no glue on our boot boxes, making our packaging 100% recyclable and compostable. By doing this we have saved over 22,600 kg of new cardboard being produced.
The primary source of money is generated from sales of marked Desolve products. A portion of revenue from these products will be fed into the fund. Currently we are supporting Sustainable Coastlines, Million Metres Streams Project, and the Blue Duck Project.

The world’s going to hell in a hand-basket! Or it’s actually not that bad and people are overreacting. Whatever your spin on it, everyone should agree that recycling some trash, planting some trees, cleaning up a river, and giving our animals a helping hand is well worth doing. So, in conjunction with our Sustainability Promise, the fund was established to contribute additional help to the things that matter to us... the outdoor adventurers.
Durable water repellent (DWR) helps water to bead off our waders and rainwear, it also repels dirt, allowing our gear to perform at the highest level. But standard DWRs contain perfluorinated compounds (PFCs). In researching the production of these materials, we found that there are some really nasty by-products that have been linked to harmful health effects in humans and animals. Our DWR is completely free of PFC’s, PFOA’s, and PFOS’s. This alternative is more expensive to produce and not quite as effective performance wise, but in accordance with our Sustainability Promise, we will not compromise on our environmental and social responsibility. It was therefore an easy decision to adopt this as our DWR for the Desolve Supply Co. range.
The fashion industry is the second-largest polluter in the world, following the biggest offender the oil industry. We don’t want to stick our heads in the sand and ignore these facts. In fact, we want to do as much as we can to reduce our hand in it. We have partnered with REPREVE®, the world’s leading recycled fibre manufacturer to make our performance fishing fabrics out of recycled plastic bottles, which otherwise end up in our landfills and oceans. We have recycled over 2.5 million plastic bottles and counting.
