Make the Most of your Display Home Visit When you visit a display home, you’re probably looking mostly at the overall look and feel of the design. Later, though, you may decide that it doesn’t completely work for you as your own home.

Here are some tips to help you make the most of your viewing of modular WA homes.

Consider Before You Go Before you start visiting rural homes that you may want to build, do some research. Skip homes that are out of your budget or that don’t meet your needs. When you cut down the list, you’ll save time and also remember each home you do see more clearly.

Consider Practicality Make sure you bring the measurements discussed earlier with you when you go, along with a measuring tape. Measure any areas that might be questionable as far as furniture or other considerations. Check the traffic flow to ensure it’s smooth and you can move easily throughout the home. Don’t forget to look outside to make sure you like the design and flow of the exterior as well.

Instead of focusing on the styling – the furniture, paint, etc. – focus on the floor plan and traffic flow. Remember, rural homes can be decorated any way you want once they’re built. Quality is also a factor. Look at the framing, any brickwork, tiling, paintwork (not necessarily the colours) and suppliers.

You’ll also need to look at what is standard on the home. Many display homes include upgrades or extra finishes. What you’re
