Plenty in store at the Watergate First of all I wish to express a sincere word of thanks to everybody who contributed to the success of our 21st birthday celebrations on April 4th. A special word of thanks to the guests and audience who attended. We have plenty more to entertain you during the coming year including Hugh Leonard’s play DA, (July) and Miss Saigon (November). Both shows will be presented by Watergate Productions. We are delighted to present three shows in July as part of our Theatre trilogy. Shows

To celebrate their 21st Birthday, The Watergate is running a photographic competition with the theme “what a wonderful world” So, whether it is the sun rising, your baby smiling, a moment from sport be creative and try to approach the subject with your individual interpretation not the stereotype of the suject. Think what is unique about your subject, perhaps a close up of the pattern of hair on a baby’s head, the setting sun on the inside wall of your house, or the muddied hands of the football player. The Future Presents

By Lowri Evans

This is an engaging, and insightful look at how one young woman has looked at her life both retrospectively and to her future as she approaches her 30th birthday.. It is a life exposed through images, letters, acerbic observation and immense wit. The Secret Life of You and Me is part live performance, part art installation; a stunning scrapbook of storytelling inspired by Lowri’s experience of working with people with dementia, conversations with strangers and a long distance relationship that spanned the UK and Brazil.

Polish Theatre Ireland presents

Written by

Julia Holewinska Displacement is a primary theme of Julia Holewinska’s play. It is an unsettling contemplation of identity politics during and after the fall of communist Poland. The story is hinged on the lead character Adam/Ewa and his own issues of gender identity coupled with those of a changing political and religious landscape. It is cutting edge not only in its subject matter but in how the story unfolds on stage. It is dark, sensitive & informative yet contains much humour. Saturday July 12th at 8 p.m. Adm.: e15 / e13 - Attend all three shows for €39 / €33 (First 30 Seats . . . Pay what you like)
