Avon Holiday Product Showcase Check out the incredible assortment of Avon products this season — from beauty and jewelry to fashion, gifts, kid-pleasers and more, BREAKING NEWS! Avon is coming out with a NEW magalog for the Holidays called AVON LIVING! —Bring it home for the holidays with this ‘new’ magalog features all the things you need for the holidays… decorating, entertaining, baking, gifts and more! Featured brands: Cuisinart, Mikasa, Lenox, Disney and more, all exclusively for Avon. You don’t want to miss these great finds featured in Avon Living magalog. The year was 1886. It was also the same year that an enterprising young man named David McConnell established a small direct-to-consumer fragrance company in New York. That company — now known as Avon. Beauty For A Purpose is a new way of talking about an idea that’s always been a part of Avon’s story: The world needs more empowered women. We need more women who can not only dream big, but also have a means of turning those big dreams into a reality. Because we know the most important driver of women’s empowerment is financial independence. According to the World Economic Forum, at our current rate, women will not achieve economic parity with men until the year 2095. We think that’s too long to wait. Let’s make change happen —

and let’s make it happen soon. Empowerment is the destination, beauty is the journey. www.beautyforapurpose.avon.com Why did I start my company? (PCR). Nick is sure to mention the name and contact information of who is quoting the price. The PCA & PCR could be modified to cover the concerns of the client, i.e. only major systems, excluding the kitchen or only the kitchen.

As your Home Inspector Nick identifies areas of concern or needs for maintenance before these conditions create costly repairs or replacements. More importantly, the inspections focus on safety issues and will identify low-cost additions or upgrades that will make your home safe and more secure for you and your family. The inspection will also educate you on the operation of your home, its primary systems and current methods or alternatives to costly maintenance. As a Certified Residential Mold Inspector (CRMI) Nick helps homeowners and buyers understand the condition of the air you are breathing in your home or office. Nick will identify if there are conditions conducive for mold growth in your home or office. Nick can and will recommend air testing if he finds that the home has experienced a leaking basement, a roof leak, a plumbing leak, a sink or sewer back-up or overflow, a flood or any other water problems. “Don’t buy a home without a mold inspection!” As a Property Condition Assessment (PCA) Inspector Nick can divert from the normal Home Inspector role to an advisors role. Where Arizona State and ASHI Standards restrict a Home Inspector for mentioning repair pricing, a PCA is required to mention forecasted pricing, as well as the Property Condition Report

This is a great way for an out of town buyer to purchase a BankOwned Property that needs work without having to come to town and spend a week obtaining bids from contractors just to see if the home is worth the investment. As a HUD/FHA Compliance Inspector Nick inspects the home for the minimum requirements set forth by HUD/FHA. If you’re purchasing a new or existing home, Nick looks for the HUD/FHA requirements and the ability to fill out the required form (HUD-92051) to submit to your lender. A top notch inspector, taking pride in obtaining multiple certifications to assist you with your personal and property needs. We perform professional, industry standard home inspections using only Arizona Certified Home Inspectors and Certified American Society Home Inspectors (ASHI).

Nicks Dad “Nunzio J Alati” owned Alati’s Construction Company in Rochester N.Y. Some of his first memories as a child are riding with his dad on a C-8 Bulldozer grading the Subdivision, watching the framing go up, helping with the trim work and assisting the subcontractors to finish their tasks. Nick’s family moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona in 1972 and then to the Valley. Nick has over 27 years of experience in Arizona Construction where he learned what a “DryHeat” really is and how our 180 degree attic plays a major role on you and your home! Learning construction techniques and more so customer concerns, Nick saw the need for an openminded, non-evasive Home Inspector. Nick is intimately familiar with the remodeling, maintenance and repair methods used throughout the Phoenix area. The types of cooling systems, roofing systems, exteriors and extensive periods of heat we experience in Arizona are not common throughout the rest of the U.S and the impact they could have on your energy bill and life style!

We will recommend repairs only when it is necessary. Your interests are our interests. All our clients are offered free telephone consultation during the inspection period and after you are in your home.

Annual Home Maintenance Inspection During the course of our busy everyday life’s we can often overlook some very important things.

We encourage you to accompany your Home Inspector after your inspection. You will receive a presentation on the findings of the home inspection, an education on the systems of your home and what you can expect from that system.

Failure to maintain your home properly can damage your home and downgrade its value. In most cases, you will not know what is wrong until something breaks or someone is injured. And as with the human body, a symptom is usually a sign of a bigger problem. If that symptom is not treated or repaired, symptoms may worsen and lead to bigger problems down the road.

Our process provides an invaluable learning and discovery experience. You will gain insight to maintenance and energy conservation tailored specifically to your home. Our home inspectors ensure a comprehensive, fair, independent and objective physical home inspection. Nick J. Alati was raised in a family owned construction business.

Ironically, we will take our automobiles in for a checkup before a road trip but our homes typically will go until something quits, we will wash our automobiles after every rain or once a week but the Exterior is only washed when we have the house Painted. Although the warning signs might

be there, unnoticed problems typically have extensive costly repairs that need immediate attention at the worst possible time! Hard rock singer Rick Frederick of San Tan Valley is a man of unyielding faith: faith in the Lord and in himself. His rising hard rock band Tridon began as a simple bedroom project with an 8-track recorder, yet through years of struggling to find gigs, plucking reliable members out from the pool of flakes, and never succumbing to external or internal doubt, he has earned opening slots for classic rock legends and recorded with a Grammy-winning engineer. “So many people across the board have overcome overwhelming odds because they never gave up and no one could deter them,” Frederick said. “I want to be that beacon of light that inspires and attracts other people to do that same thing.” Tridon will bring that uplifting message to San Tan Valley for the very first time at this year’s PolarFest on Dec. 5. That message is particularly hard-won, as Frederick has never veered from his dream of rock stardom.

18

Quickly writing confident solo songs in his Tucson home, Frederick fired up a full band in earnest starting in 2006, but after playing around town for a few years, he said the band hit the ceiling.

chance of making it, so you should give up and join a cover band.’” This was a turning point, and in that moment, he was unfazed by the put-downs. “I took that as a rallying cry,” he said.

“It’s like any good product: if it’s sitting your garage, it’s going nowhere,” he said.

He thought to himself: I accept this challenge.

In 2010, the operation moved to Phoenix to seek more gigs and bigger stages, and Frederick soon settled in San Tan Valley with his future wife. The group was pulling better shows, scoring gigs with classic rockers like Tesla and LA Guns, but still had something of a membership revolving door. A few years ago, Frederick took a phone call from one former band member who was quitting the group without notice. “I don’t wish to badmouth anybody,” Frederick insisted, “but this guy was very arrogant.” He recalls the former member dismissing all of Frederick’s work with insults before hanging up the phone. “He told me, ‘Your music isn’t that good. You have no

www.EVBmagazine.com

He took that experience and penned the song “What You Are”, a kiss off ode to abandoning all the negative entities that can harm one’s self-purpose. “It’s about those people that try to tear you apart,” he said, “to tell you your dream is absolutely crazy, that you’ll never achieve it.” In a few years, Tridon would open shows for the likes of crossover alt-rockers Flyleaf and rock ‘n roll good old boy Ted Nugent, and “What You Are” would end up on a record they recorded with one of the most accomplished producers in contemporary hard rock. The group recorded its latest album, 2014’s Edge of Redemption, with Jeremy Parker, a high-profile producer/

/Tridonmusic tridonmusic.com engineer who’s worked with some of hard rock’s biggest names. Parker’s massive track record begins with his work engineering Evanescence’s breakthrough album, Fallen, which won Grammys and sold millions. He quickly became a hard rock household name, working on records for hard rock radio stalwarts like Godsmack, Disturbed and Trivium. All of those bands are on the list of Frederick’s favorite acts. And as luck would have it, Parker happened to be at the Saltmine Studios in Mesa while Frederick was laying down vocal tracks. Sight unseen, Parker sat in on the session, and they struck up a friendly rapport. The two soon arranged to work together on Tridon’s newest material. Clearly, Frederick was floored by the opportunity, saying it was no less than an honor. Tridon began the sessions for Edge of Redemption at Premier Studios in Phoenix with a legend in the producer’s seat. “I immediately became a student, listening and learning,” he said. “Any musician in a studio like that is a kid in the candy store.”

compacted by Chad Edwards’ airtight drum wallops and Mykk Hannon’s rupturing bass, all before the chorus gives way to soaring distorted chords. But the band’s most common mode is redemptive anthems like the album’s title track, bursting with bright guitar leads and sweeping vocal hooks. Throughout the album, Frederick’s voice careens and coos much like Saliva’s Josey Scott or Chad Kroger of Nickelback, and the lyrics make lessthan-subtle allusions to the spirituality behind the message. Hard rock and Christianity were quite cozy at the turn of the millennium. Bands that originally launched in the Christian rock market, like Evanescence and Flyleaf, eventually had massive crossover success with secular audiences. But some groups, most infamously Creed, fell prey to rock hedonism and alienated large swathes of their audiences.

Christian music. He remembers his sister getting him into secular hard rock and his brother psyching him up on albums by 90s alt rock chart toppers Live. But while his message of redemption comes from a deep place of faith, he wants the positivity of his music to be universal. “My writing isn’t trying to nail down a specific form of belief,” he said. “I’m trying to speak to the world as a whole.” “There’s evil and there’s good, light and darkness,” he adds, “and they’re at war with each other.” With his heart set on taking Tridon around the world, Fredrickson will let nothing dim his light. Author: Chase Kamp Republished with permission from the Southeast Valley Ledger, copperarea.com

The result is a record that closely follows the potent formula of chugging verses and triumphant choruses that proved so successful for the early 2000s radio rock and nu-metal bands Tridon admires. Use My Guy Services Storming the Valley Five years ago I was working at a local hardware store with five kids at home, animals to feed, and bills to pay. It wasn't cutting it! I was making more after work helping out customers doing side jobs then I was at my actual job. The choice was obvious, it was time to start Use My Guy Services. I met with our son Jacob, and discussed the idea of starting our own handy man business. He agreed to join us in our venture. We were out! No longer working for corporate America, but now in business for ourselves as entrepreneurs. I have been preparing for this my whole life. In the 80's we had a swimming pool company, then I added 100 spaces to an existing mobile home park providing the utilities and infrastructure. Jacob had some knowledge of electrical and plumbing, and in the following year I was able to teach him the skills he would need to provide excellent service. The time was right, we had the experience and knowledge to start Use My Guy Services. We are now a small fleet and service the WHOLE valley. Here at Use My Guy Services we pride ourselves on delivering quality and honest service at a reasonable price. We specialize in household emergencies and general services. Water heater leaking? Faucets dripping? Tub hard to turn on and off? Lost power to part of your house? Not to worry, we can take care of it! You may think, "I don't have an emergency." Maybe you need some pictures hung or lights changed before company comes over.

Whether a household emergency, last minute holiday preparations, or just some honey do's that the honey hasn't had time to do, you can trust Use My Guy Services to get it done for you! Check us out on Facebook, Angie's List, and Yelp to find our more about out company. We are an "A" rated company with the BBB as well. Warmly, Connie Bunyard, Use My Guy Services

If you need a hand this Christmas season, please consider our company to hang your Christmas lights or help with your holiday decorations.
