The Pros and Cons of Gated Community

The Pros and Cons of Gated Community Many people now preferred living in a gated community. Living in a gated community means having a safe, secured, and private life. The number of residential gated communities has been continuously growing since the 1970s. Bonita Springs, Bradenton, and Lakewood Ranch are one of the cities in Southwest Florida with the highest number of gated communities. However, as much as these gated communities offer some benefits, it is undeniable that they also pose some disadvantages. The Pros People living in these gated communities create their own private world with these high walls and secured entrances. Since the community is secured by walls or fences, unwanted visitors can be kept away. Further, only those with access, other homeowners, are allowed in the community thus you will be assured that you will have your privacy. One major reason why you choose to live in a gated residential community is because of your concerns regarding security. Gated communities offer protection from the dangers outside the community. The entrances of these communities are either controlled by gates, entry codes, key cards, or security guards. No outsiders or strangers are allowed to enter the vicinity and visitors will have to be thoroughly checked. By naming a property a private one and having a no trespassing policy, criminals will be deterred from entering the said community. Because the access is restricted, many criminals will bypass the community to avoid the risks of being trapped behind fences or walls. The Cons It is true that gates reduce crime rate. However, crimes within the residential gated community are not completely eliminated. There is a high possibility that the community will not be monitored by police officers unless the Homeowner’s Association requests it or allows it. Automatic gates can also be easily breached once one resident gives out the code to some delivery services. Furthermore, there are other concerns regarding the accessibility of the community to emergency personnel. Gated entrances are actually causing some delays for the first responders. For entrances with automated gates, authorities such as fire fighters, health personnel, and police officers, have difficulties doing their job. Good News! EVAC Dealer in Florida attempts to address this issue with its Emergency Vehicle Access Control. It is a radio controlled system made for emergency responders to gain easy access to gated communities. It comes with a coded remote and an EVAC receiver. Again, it is only made for emergency personnel and no one else will know the code for the remote except for the authorities.
