Our Melbourne campus is located in Ringwood and our Sydney Campus is in Parramatta with the majority of all our learning offered online.

Our higher education awards cater for a range of study interests and are mainly delivered online. You can study towards a higher academic qualification in the discipline of theology, ministry or divinity, another option is a higher degree by research.

Eva Burrows College is The Salvation Army's national college in Australia, born out of the unification of Booth College in Sydney and Catherine Booth College in Melbourne, with a new collegiate agreement between the University of Divinity and Eva Burrows College signed on 13 September 2017, in effect, marking the birth of Eva Burrows College.

If you have not studied for some time, or have never undertaken tertiary study, a great place to start is the Learning for Life and Ministry Unit. Eva Burrows College delivers undergraduate and postgraduate awards as a college of the University of Divinity. If you undertake university studies at Eva Burrows College you are a student of the University of Divinity and join one of twelve colleges of different Christian faith traditions, gaining access to units and services across all twelve colleges located throughout Australia. An award is a course that comprises a structured sequence of study units which, when successfully completed, entitle the student to a qualification or award e.g. Bachelor. Nonaward students are enrolled in a course or unit but they are not enrolled in an academic program that leads to the conferral of a university award

Eva Burrows College trains and develops the character and capacity of individuals wanting to become Salvation Army officers and Auxiliary Lieutenants, training them to be empowered spiritual leaders who impact the world with Jesus Christ’s mission, compassion and love.

Anyone can study units at Eva Burrows College. If you see a topic of interest, you can study the unit without undertaking a full award as a non-award student. You will still complete course work, undertake assessments, receive a grade and pay the full course fee. Alternatively, you can study the unit as an audit student, complete the course work without doing the required assessment and not receive a grade. Cost of an audit unit is $550 per unit.

In addition to the facilities, unit and course offerings at Eva Burrows College, all students of the College are eligible to undertake studies at other Colleges within the University of Divinity. What is a unit of study?
Units of study are single subjects that make up your award. Each award requires you to choose from a variety of fields, including;
Field A: Humanities
Field B: Biblical Studies
Field C: Christian Thought and History
Field D: Theology: Mission and Ministry
You can select units of study each semester and build an award in an area of ministry and interest.
What is a unit code?
The unit code itself provides a wealth of knowledge about what field of discipline it falls within, the level of study and where the unit is being delivered. Here’s more on the unit of study code explained.
How many units can I enrol in?
On average a full-time study load is 3-4 units per semester. A maximum of four in a semester is recommended for undergraduate and three for postgraduate students.
Are units of study accredited?
All our units are accredited through the University of Divinity, who is registered with the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA), Australia’s independent national quality assurance and regulatory agency for higher education.
What delivery mode is available?
Units are delivered online via ARK, the Learning Management System for all our higher education study.

The fees for undergraduate and postgraduate units are determined by the University of Divinity whose awards are delivered by Eva Burrows College. Fees are consistent for domestic and international students. To learn more about Course Fees refer to the University of Divinity Fees here.
When do I have to pay for the Course?
The student tuition fee for a unit must be paid in full prior to the commencement of a unit.
How do I pay for my course?
Fees are paid directly to the University of Divinity at the time of admission or reenrolment. See the Course Fees page for the methods of payment available or discuss payment options with the Registrar.
What is the cost of a unit of study?
The standard cost of an undergraduate unit is $2,109 and for a postgraduate unit $3,268. Tuition fees are given in Australian dollars unless otherwise indicated and are reviewed on an annual basis by the University of Divinity. You can also study one or more units as an audit student at the cost of $550 per unit.
Overseas students are charged a separate application fee of $300 (plus GST) upon enrolment.
Are there any scholarships available?
The Eva Burrows Australian Leadership Scholarship for Women may be available for applicants to apply. Learn more about the scholarship here.
If I withdraw from the course do I get my money back?
If you have paid course fees upfront and withdraw on or before the census date for that unit, your fee will be refunded. If you have paid course fees upfront and withdraw after the census date for that unit, your fee will not be refunded.
If you have requested FEE-HELP assistance and withdraw on or before the census date for that unit, you will not incur a FEE-HELP debt for that unit. If you have requested FEE-HELP assistance and withdraw after the census date for that unit you will incur a FEE-HELP debt for that unit of study.

If I want to pay by cheque or money order, who is it made out to?
A cheque or money order payable to the University of Divinity may be attached to your Admission Form.
Can I pay by credit card?
Yes, you can pay by VISA or Mastercard, a non-refundable surcharge fee of 1.80% applies for all card payments. Credit card details are provided on the admission form and you can specify a date when payment is to be processed, provided this date is prior to the commencement of the unit.
There are a number of options available to help with course fees. Students enrolling in undergraduate and postgraduate awards may qualify for the following funding.
When you attend the university of an approved higher education provider, you may be eligible to get a FEE-HELP loan to pay all or part of your tuition fees. Australian citizens and holders of a permanent humanitarian visa may defer the payment of fees through the FEE-HELP loan scheme. Tuition fees are paid by the Australian Government and debited to a loan account. Students are not required to begin repaying the accumulated loan debt until their taxable income rises above the compulsory repayment threshold. A FEE-HELP loan does not cover costs like accommodation, laptops or textbooks. Please see the Australian Government Study Assist website for more information about FEE-HELP.

The Eva Burrows Library offers both onsite and online access to resources that help meet the study, research and leisure reading needs of our students. The library is located at the Ringwood Campus in Melbourne and anyone is welcome to be a member. To become a member of the library, please go to: Library Registration Form
All members can access a large digital collection and over 38,000 print resources, including specialised collections. Onsite the library offers a comfortable, air-conditioned space for private study and group work. Computers with internet access, printing, photocopying, and scanning are some of the facilities available at the library. WiFi network allows students to use their own computers and portable devices to research and access resources.

There are key dates associated with each semester that you will need to be aware of. These assist with applying for admission, commencing study, when there are nonteaching periods, receiving results, etc. View the current key academic dates here.

Eva Burrows College has excellent Higher Education campuses Our Melbourne Campus, located in Ringwood, offers a range of teaching and learning environments including: an auditorium, a number of classrooms and small tutorial rooms, a prayer room and chapel. All rooms, other than the prayer room, are wellequipped with data projectors, large screens, wireless internet and whiteboards.
Our Sydney Campus, located in Parramatta, has large, well-lit classrooms, state of the art technology, a comfortable student lounge and outdoor area.
However, in today’s global learning environment, we also have a world-wide online campus that is your learning space, meaning that services are available wherever you are.
When applying to study, if within the University of Divinity regulations, students are entitled to apply for and be granted credit. This will be given so long as students are not disadvantaged in achieving their course outcomes by receiving credit and so long as the integrity of the course of study is maintained. There are many rules around the awarding of credits. You can read the full University of Divinity Credit Policy here or speak with the Registrar to find the credit options available to you.
The health and wellbeing of all students is very important to us. If you have any specific needs to successfully undertake your studies at Eva Burrows College, please make sure you alert the Registrar as you prepare for enrolment. Refer to Student Health and Wellbeing for contact details of medical practitioners and hospitals within the vicinity of the campuses, Legal Aid and Lifeline in case you should need them.
The University has three major IT systems used by staff and students for learning, teaching and research.
• ARK: The Learning Management System used to support all units at the University. Instructions for access to ARK and related resources are sent to all NEW students prior to the commencement of Semester. Units can be accessed 1 week prior to the commencement of the unit. Access to units ceases 2-4 weeks after the end of the unit.
• Library Hub: Digital library resources including databases, journals and ebooks.
• Paradigm: The Student Information Management System, Paradigm, provides access to enrolment data and results.
All of our undergraduate and postgraduate awards by coursework are delivered online. Access to all your learning materials and assessment tasks will be available through our online portal, ARK. You will be able to access support through Student Central in ARK and to interact with and make online or phone appointments with student support staff, who are there to assist you with your online learning.
An Orientation session is offered for all students prior to Semesters 1 and 2. Orientation provides an introduction to key people, information and procedures to assist with a smooth transition, as you begin your studies. Once enrolled an online orientation module is available to all students on ARK.
Pastoral care at Eva Burrows College follows the example of Jesus. We seek to provide a nurturing, safe, supportive and positive environment and, if required, work to link students with appropriate pastoral support.
Studying theology can raise difficult questions about faith, the Bible and life. Please talk to someone if you find the questions are causing you confusion or anxiety. Your lecturer or the Student Pastoral Support Officer are good people to approach about issues your studies are raising for you, however any faculty member can assist. Academic study of theology is aimed to support and grow your faith, and our faculty are committed to supporting you.

In order to enrol in some units you will need to have completed set pre-requisites. This information is found on the unit of study information for each individual unit. Please check these out as you consider enrolling or plan your award. The Registrar will be able to help you with any questions you have around pre-requisites.

In the first instance, contact the Registrar (step 1) to discuss your study program. Once you have discussed your study options, the Registrar can assist you with the completion of your Admission Form. For all new students, after we have received your Admission Form it is a requirement for you to attend an Admissions Interview with our Academic Advisor at the College. The interview may be conducted by telephone, email, or similar means if you are unable to travel to our Ringwood Campus in Melbourne. The purpose of the interview is to ensure you have the right course for you, to confirm you meet the admission requirements, and to plan a program of study appropriate to your needs.
After the interview, you will need to finalise your application, together with any outstanding certified documentation and payment of tuition fees. For all existing students, you will receive an email to confirm your enrolment in your units of study.
If your application is accepted, you will receive confirmation of your enrolment from the University of Divinity and an online Welcome Pack from Eva Burrows College with the information you need to get started.
