EUSA NEWS EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING
EUSA STUDENT COMMISSION
The Italian University Sports Federation (C.U.S.I.) and the C.U.S. Roma hosted the 2nd EUSA Executive Committee meeting this year. The meeting took place in Roma from June 3rd-4th, 2005. During their stay in Italy, the members of the EUSA Executive Committee visited also Latina, the host city of the 3rd European University Futsal Championship, which will take place from July 17th-24th, 2005. On that occasion, the Press Conference was held in the Town Hall in the presence of the event’s hosts, the Mayor and the Sports Council, as well as of the EUSA Executive Committee.
The EUSA Student Commission (STC) had its first meeting, hosted by the Portuguesse University Sports Association (FADU), in Lisbon (POR) end of April 2005. The most important decisions from STC were: 1. To start the training course - volunteer and practical program during EUCs 2. To support FADU to apply YOUTH program action 5 to get financial support for organising the next EUSA Symposium 3. To propose some of the topics for the EUSA Symposiums 4. VOLUNTEER TRAINING PROGRAM The most important decisions, made on the EUSA Executive Committee meeting, are: EUC 2005 The Executive Committeee approved the progress reports of the Organising Committees of the EUCs 2005 and attributed the organisation of the EUC Tennis 2005 to the French University Sports Association. The Championship will take place in Rouen from November 30th - December 04th, 2005. EUC 2006 The Executive Committee attributed the organisation of the following European University Championships 2006: Futsal – Novi Sad, SCG Badminton – Lisbon, POR Handball – Besancon, FRA Basketball – Braga, POR The EUCs in Football, Volleyball and Tennis have already been attributed to Eindhoven / NED. The deadline for the bids for EUC Beach-Volleyball and EUC Karate was postponed to September 15th, 2005. EUC Rowing and EUSA Symposium are organised on bianual basis (next 2007). EUSA and its Student Commission (STC) together with the Organising Committees of the EUC started the volunteer training program for the students. Active students from all over the Europe could apply for the place in the program, many of them were chosen and will participate as sup-
porting organisers on the European University Championship (EUCs) in 2005. They will have the chance to raise their competencies and skills in organising sport events on the European level, get new experiences in different fields, be useful for the organising committees, exchange knowledge, learn about the culture of the country, get new friends all over the Europe. The training course includes for example working as team attaches of the participating delegations or being a member of the organising committee, supporting the organisers in the competition fields. email: office@eusa-unisport.org website: www.eusa-unisport.org
