TURKEY

Slovenian University Sports Association (SUSA) had its annual General Assembly on March 18th, 2005 in Skofja Loka. The delegates approved some modifications of the statutes, the annual report, the activity programme and the budget for 2005. The General Assembly also elected the new Executive Committee and the Commisions. Mr. Otmar Kugovnik was re-elected for the President, while mr. Rado Pisot and mr. Bozidar Pucnik were re-elected for the VicePresidents for the next 4-year mandate.

The new EUSA member, the Turkish University Sports Federation, is fully occupied with the preparations for the Summer Universiade, which will take place in Izmir / TUR from August 11th21st, 2005. The Heads of the delegations meeting took place in Izmir last weekend and among representatives from all over the world, the heads of delegations from 23 EUSA member federations also came to Turkey to get the important informations from the Organising Committee and to take part in the draw for the team sports. ESTONIA The General Assembly of the Estonian Academic Sports Federation (EASF) has elected mr. Ants Veetousme the new president of the federation for the next 4 years mandate. Formal President professor Jaak Aaviksoo, Rector of Tartu University was president for 6 years and he didn’t candidate again. “Student sports need new leaders in every time of period,” explained he to the GA. Mr. Veetousme was a formal Secretary General of the federation. He was the President of the Estonian Fencing Federation for a long time and also the Executive Committee member of the Estonian Olympic Committee. The General Assembly also approved some modifications of the statues and elected other new board members.

SERBIA and MONTENEGRO Mr. Sinisa Jasnic, the President of the University Sports Association of Serbia and Montenegro (USSSCG) and a member of the Executive Committee of EUSA was elected in the board of the Olympic Committee of SCG. Congratulations! The USSSCG signed a contract with the company DDOR Novi Sad for the general sponsorship of the federation.
