THE 6th EUSA GENERAL ASSEMBLY

12/2004

The 6th EUSA General Assembly, hosted by the British Universities Sports Association (BUSA), took place in Nottingham / GBR on December 4th, 2004.

Treasurer and 8 members. The Secretary General as paid professional will be a member of the EC but without voting rights.

The President of EUSA, mr. Enno Harms and the Chair of BUSA, mr. Phil Attwell both welcomed the representatives from 25 european countries, who were present in Nottingham. The General Assembly then accepted mr. Malcolm Brown (GBR) as the Chair of the GA 2004.

The President of EUSA thanked the British Universities Sports Association and the University of Nottingham for their hospitality and invited the members to the next General Assembly, which will take in Poland in 2006.

The General Assembly made the following decisions: • the university sports federations from Turkey and Russia were accepted as the new EUSA members • the annual report of the Executive Committee and the Student Commission, the accounts 2004, the budget 2005 and the activity programme for 2005 were approved. The criteria in the adoption of new sports into EUSA EUC status were observed. • the President of the Students Sport Federation in Lituania, Mr. Ceslovas Garbaliauskas, was elected as a new member of the Executive Committee, replacing Matjaz Pecovnik, who was nominated EUSA Chief Executive in March 2004.

EC MEETING

The General Assembly also approved some changes of the statutes. Among them, it was decided that the Executive Committee will have 2 year mandate in the future (without limitation) and will consist of: President, Vice-President,

The Executive Committee had its 4th meeting this year in Nottingham, on December 2nd, 2004. The following decisions were made: EUC 2005 the EC attributed three more EUC for the next year: 2nd EUC BADMINTON: MAINZ / GER 3rd EUC FOOTBALL: NIS / SCG 1st EUC ROWING: CARDIFF / GBR EUC 2006 The EUC in Football, Volleyballl and Tennis 2006 will be held from July 2nd to 9th, 2006 in Eindhoven and hosted by the Studentensport Nederland and Eindhoven technical University, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
