Alicante tops list with 55 Blue Flag awards By Benny Davis ALICANTE PROVINCE has been awarded 55 Blue Flags for the quality of its beaches. The coveted Blue Flag is a much sought-after symbol that guarantees an environmentally clean beach where families can enjoy the sand, sun, sea, services and facilities, under the protection of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). In April this year, the FEE awarded Blue Flags to 3,098 beaches and 645 marinas in 36 countries of the northern hemisphere.

€7,000 worth of clothes stolen POLICE have arrested two men in San Vicente del Raspeig for allegedly stealing €7,000 worth of clothing. The shop owner called the police when he saw the two leaving the store with large bags filled with merchandise.
