ESPITE a summer season that saw the numbers of British tourists to Benidorm showing a slight slowdown, the first two weeks of October have certainly made up for that shortfall. According to figures released by hotel managers HOSBEC, it’s the first time this year that visitors from the UK have come out of the red when compared to 2017. Each month, so far, has shown the numbers falling but hotel occupancy rates for the first fortnight of October saw British tourism with a 45 per cent market share, accounting for around 251,000 overnight stays during that time, and remain at the same levels as last year for the month.
