TWO men have been reported for poaching in the salt lakes of Santa Pola. They were taken by surprise in the process of catching nine mullet and common carp using fishing rods, a homemade net and a piece of cork fishing tackle. Even though both men were in possession of hunting and fishing licences issued by the Valencian authorities, it appears that they completely ignored the fishing ban that exists inside the Santa Pola natural park.
