by Tahnee Wright THe porT of denia has two key objectives as part of its growth plan – to strengthen the city and to establish it as a future berth for cruise ships. Balearia, responsible for the management of denia Maritime station recently presented an improvement plan to the ports of the Generalitat to extend its facilities with an investment of €2 million. Balearia would like to build a dock for the mooring of cruise ships and install a heliport.
parking would be improved and the port would be accredited as a schengen port. in compliance with regulations, the investment would also provide for the adaptation of a zone for the treatment of waste. already this year, Balearia has demonstrated its dedication to the port of denia, having joined the siCTed (integrated system of Tourist Quality in destinations) and initiating the necessary actions to distinguish itself in 2017 as a ‘puerto de atraque de Cruceros y Ferris’ (port for cruises and ferries).
The siCTed is a project designed to improve the quality of tourist destinations promoted by the General secretariat of Tourism and the spanish Federation of Municipalities and provinces (FeMp) – aiming to positively influence the experience and satisfaction of the tourists visiting a siCTed destination. This project offers companies an improvement in the internal management of customer satisfaction processes, a better qualification of staff through a training plan and technical assistance.
