Ministry says ‘No’ THE central government’s Environment Ministry will not take steps to prevent cliff rockfalls in Campello’s Baeza and Lanuza beaches. Julio Oca, who is Beaches councillor as well as deputy mayor, revealed that the Coastal Authority, attached to the Ministry ‐ in‐ formed the town hall that “natural erosion should not be pre‐ vented.” This is a normal process that replenishes the beaches below them, Costas said. Faced with this official refusal to help, Oca went on to explain that Campello Town Hall was now signposting both beaches, while preventing access to avert potential accidents to members of the public.
