HISPANO-ITALIAN SUMMIT THE Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, received the President of the Council of Ministers of Italy, Giuseppe Conte, in the Patio of the Al mudaina Palace, in Palma at the beginning of the 19th His panoItalian Summit on Wednesday November 25. Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and senior Italian ministers met with Prime Minister Sánchez ac companied by members of his government to discuss a num ber of matters of mutual inter est. Although the two met re cently (October) in Rome the decision to resurrect what used
to be a regular bilateral meet ing shows how closely the two wish to work together, espe cially as their countries will be the main recipients of the Eu ropean Union Recovery Fund which is currently being held up by Hungary and Poland. The venue of the Almudaina Palace in Palma was finally de cided upon after much consid eration because Mallorca is considered to be one of the communities least affected by Covid19. This is the first HispanoItal ian Summit to be held for sev en years, with then Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy host ing that meeting.

An Epic Journey

PHILIP JAMES BABER is swim ming around the entire navi gable 555 kilometres of Mal lorca to raise funds for the island’s Cancer Support Group, but with just a few days and 18 kilometres to go, he has raised €5,164 of his €7,000 target and needs help. Philip is doing as much of this epic journey as he can on the open water, the remain der on a leash attached to a bungy attached to the back of his car in a tiny pool right out side his house in Mallorca’s Sierra De Traumantana mountain range. He is doing this to raise awareness about the impor tance of Mallorca’s 980,000 residents respecting the need for many people with so
called preexisting medical conditions to be supported in their efforts not just to keep their immune systems as ro bust as possible but also, in
many cases, to continue self isolation until the risk of Covid19 has disappeared. The CSG supports people affected by cancer of all na
