NEW restrictions in Andalucia mean that from Tuesday, No vember 10 there are restrictions on where we can go and when, unless the reason can be justi fied. Travel between municipalities (towns) is not permitted unless for esssential needs. A municipali ty is determined as the area cov ered by the town hall that you are registered as living in. It will help people to carry doc uments to prove their reason for travelling between towns, cities or villages, or within their munici pal boundaries, is justified. We are allowed to travel to an other municipality for the follow ing reasons: Attend health centres, phar macies or health care services show the doctor’s referral note or receipt for the medicine pur chased. Meet professional, business, institutional or legal obligations Companies can provide their em ployees with a document which proves they need to go to work. THE mayor of Torrox, Óscar Medina, has decreed a 25 per cent reduction in the beach fee for this year, based on a report from the Head of the Local Po lice of Torrox. The report explains that this measure is intended to reduce expenses in a sea son in which income has been signifi cantly reduced due to the pandemic. Óscar Medina pointed out: “It has been a very hard summer and from the council we want to support our beach hoteliers,” explaining that the Covid19 crisis, “has not only meant a lower num ber of visitors, but has also affected the measures to allow compliance with the social distancing rule and that it has af fected both the hammock space or nau tical facilities as in the beach bars them selves. “The City Council has evidence, thanks to the report of the Local Police, that indeed that area has been reduced, therefore, in my opinion, there is no doubt that it should also be applied to the fee to be paid,” explained Medina.

Curfew is from 10pm to 7am, again, unless there is a justified motive, such as working a night shift for example, heading home from work, reporting an urgent crime or other situation, going to hospitals or health centres for medical emergencies. At 6pm nonessential activity will close, this EXCLUDES: driving schools, soup kitchens, ITV sta tions, restaurants with home de livery, launderettes, online or phonebased companies, vets and pet supply shops, telecom munications equipment, book shops, stationery shops, morgues, outdoor sports facilities, tobac conists, petrol stations, newsagents, hairdressers, phar macies, opticians, orthopaedic shops, industrial activities, house hold assistance, family meeting points (for custody situations), car hire, shops selling food, drink, cleaning products and other first necessity items. For now, these measures will remain in place in the region (An dalucia) until Monday, November 23. Although not imposing home confinement, the Junta de An dalucia recommends that people stay at home as much as possible as a precautionary measure. Granada Province, that is, the city of Granada and all towns and villages belonging to the province, is in total lockdown.
