Alicante is, Mazon stressed, “a dynamic and competitive province,” with a broad range of consolidated economic sectors, a varied agri-food industry and a wine industry which he said is rapidly expanding its international market. News about the new campaign coincided with the Alicante Provincial Hotel Association reporting one of the best

Octobers ever for the sector thanks to days of exceptionally warm weather and despite any Brexit-generated uncertainties. Alicante’s hotels registered average occupation levels of 80

per cent last month, 2.8 points above October 2018. Approximately seven out of 10 of the guests were foreigners. Brits accounted for just over 20 per cent of the non-Spaniards.
