A HISTORIC royal visit brought residents out on the streets to welcome the King of Spain. King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia paid a visit to Orihuela on Friday October 4 to show support to residents of the Vega Baja after the devastating floods. It was a historic day for the town, as it was the first time it has had a royal visit. The King was presented with the original flag of Orihuela Gloriosa Enseña of the Oriol which is the oldest flag known in Spain. ty to those affected by some of the most serious damage. In the early afternoon last Friday, they travelled further along the Costa Blanca to Los Alcazares where again they were
greeted by hundreds of storm victims. Miguel Perez was one of them and he told Euro Weekly News: “It was fantastic to shake hands with our King.”
