Sleeper attacked TERRIFIED householders can sleep soundly in their beds after a violent criminal was nabbed by police. The Guardia Civil have arrested a young Moroccan man following a one-man crime spree that included one victim being attacked as he slept. Police say the robber wore a mask over his face as he preyed on vulnerable people carrying out at least seven attacks in the San Javier district. The robber is said to have stalked one woman to her doorstep before snatching her money as she tried to enter her home. He also assaulted a man in his home whilst he slept after breaking into the property during the night.The hooded assailant repeatedly smashed the helpless victim across the head and chest with a frying pan. ‘Operation Albasit’ in a determined effort to end the reign of terror after receiving reports of the violent assaults. Their painstaking detective work eventually resulted in the identification, location and arrest of the young man and swiftly charged him with a
trail of seven crimes. After being brought to justice the offender has now been jailed. The officers of the Benemerita, who specialise in judicial police, crime prevention and citizen security, began their investigation in April.
