Storm alert in the Costa Blanca THE Costa Blanca is bracing itself for an onslaught of heavy rain and storms following a weather warning from AEMET, the State Meteorological Agency. The forecasts show that a ‘gota fria’ (cold drop) is forming and the storm looks to be worse than was originally thought, so much so that AEMET has already raised the alert from yellow (risk) to orange (significant risk) for both rain and storms for the entire week. Warnings have also been issued to 299 towns across the region as they are at risk of heavy flooding based on similar warnings last year. AEMET also warned that rainfall of up to 40mm could fall in just one hour

out the week so the warnings are likely to be accurate. AEMET has updated the warning on their website
and have also sent it to the municipalities in the area in order to activate the emergency protocols in the event of heavy rains.
