Disabled exploitation probe By Dave Proctor

BENIDORM BAR: Customers are given the option to ‘rent’ people with achondroplasia.

A BRITISH disco pub in Benidorm is under investigation by Public Prosecutors for possible offences relating to the hiring out of dwarves. A board outside the entrance of the establishment read: ‘Wanna Rent a Midget?? Ask at Bar.’ The bar’s Facebook account also reportedly contained photos of clients posing with a man with dwarfism wearing various costumes. According to Spanish press, the lawyer for the Alpe Achondroplasia Foundation, Felipe Orviz, said

the message on the sign is an ‘attack’ against the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The matter is now under investigation as to whether the practice is a hate crime against people with dwarfism.
