By Joe Gerrard REPRESENTATIVES of the 147 nationalities living on the Costa del Sol are coming together in Marbella on Tuesday (May 14) for this year’s United Nationalities Summit, sponsored by Euro Weekly News. The event, organised by Marbella Now TV’s Nicole King, will take place at the Finca Amalur Alabardero from 9.30am to 2.30pm and tackle issues affecting teenagers and the elderly. “For those of us who want to live the tourist lifestyle or who have kids, we are well catered for. But we want to improve things for the young and old,” Nicole said.
There are set to be discussions on improving care for the elderly. Many live on the Costa dek Sol without extended family, Nicole added. Age Concern is among the charities, companies and organisations attending. “We also want to talk about giving teenagers more social and psychological support and improve job opportunities so they have a reason to stay,” Nicole said. The Zero Hero campaign to get bars and restaurants to give designated drivers free soft drinks, is one initiative which will be represented.
