AN Irish man who was allegedly a member of one of the largest gangs from the country has died after falling from a balcony in Marbella. Police allege that Michael Cumberton, who died last Saturday, was a member of the Kinahan gang. A post-mortem is due to take place on his death. Reports on the cause of death were conflicting yesterday (Wednesday). Some reports claimed he had committed suicide while others said the fall was accidental. Spanish police sources said there was no reason to believe a third party was involved. Irish Garda police sources said Cumberton had been staying in the Marbella apartment of Daniel Kinahan, head of the gang of the same name. The gang has been linked to multiple killings on the Costa del Sol and in Ireland in recent years. Many were said to have been committed in connection with a feud with a rival Irish gang.
