The end of a holiday era By Karl Smallman THE sun has set on organised three-night, all inclusive holidays in Mallorca as the last flight of Club 18-30 revellers headed home on Monday. Travel giant Thomas Cook has axed the brand with the final flight, a sell-out, leaving Manchester at the weekend, destined for BH Mallorca Hotel in Magaluf.
Club 18-30 breaks promised sun, sea and booze away from the watchful eye of parents. But in recent years sales have dwindled, even though the permitted age range was widened to 17 to 35. Figures nose dive PALMA Airport is the second worst performer in Spain and the Balearics in terms of lateness, and fourth when it comes to cancellations. This is according to a study carried out by Flightright, which reveals that in the first eight months of 2018, 1.96 per cent of all flights from the airport were delayed for more than three hours, putting it in third place. The most incidents were seen at Barcelona (2.2 per cent), followed by Ibiza (Evissa) (2.09). Just under 1 per cent (0.96) of all flights from Palma were late, ranking it second behind Ibiza (1.4 per cent). Figures for cancellations put Palma in fourth place with 1 per cent of all routes called off. The least problems were experienced in Fuerteventura, Las Palmas, Tenerife North, Arrecife and Madrid-Barajas.
