Shooter probe A COURT has remanded a man in custody and bailed another in connection with a shooting in the Mijas area which left one person seriously injured last July. Guardia Civil officers arrested the suspects as part of Operation Mostaza 2018, the name of the investigation launched after the shooting in Las Lagunas. One suspect was from Fuengirola and the other was arrested in a Mijas urbanisation. The probe into the shooting was opened after it took place on Calle San Dionisio at around 7.55pm on July 4. The 112 emergency services line received several alerts from witnesses who reported hearing several gunshots at the scene. One man was wounded and was able to flee the scene with the help of the passenger of a car he was driving at the time. The injured man was taken to the Costa del Sol Hospital in Marbella where surgeons operated on four gunshot wounds. The injuries were said to be serious at the time and the man was admitted to the hospital’s intensive care unit. The case continues. POLICE continued to search in Coin yesterday (Wednesday) for a 73-year-old British man who disappeared following flash floods in the area last week. with a thin to medium build, greyish hair and few if any teeth. He has a weather-worn face with a prominent hooked nose and is described
as having a distinctive walk. He has not been seen since Tuesday October 9. Sources close to the search said Hanks was living by the side of the Pereilas River before the flood in a make-shift shelter. He also usually took a bicycle out with him.
