Sex clinics claim by Staff Reporter TWO private clinics in Mallorca have come under fire after being accused of falsely diagnosing patients with sexually transmitted infections. The Magaluf and Palma surgeries, part of the British Surgery chain of five in the heart of the island, are at the centre of an exposé by two undercover reporters from a national English newspaper - and they claim the company is putting profit before patients. Run by British expatriate Jill Harris - believed to live in a luxury flat on the island - the clinics apparently display posters claiming ‘79 per cent of tourists who are tested are in-
fected,’ with an emphasis on chlamydia. The signs go on to ask ominously ‘are you sure you don’t have it?’ Acting on a tip-off, two investigative reporters visited the clinics and within an hour, at a cost of around €100, were allegedly told they were positive. Only a week earlier, and on their return to the UK, both women said they were checked
by a reputable London doctor who gave them both a clean sexual bill of health after a comprehensive consultation, adding that even fast-tracked, the results took five hours.
STI ‘SCAM’: The surgeries have been accused of false diagnoses.
