Brits held for ‘destroying hotel room’ TWO British tourists have been arrested in Playa de Palma after they allegedly caused more than €2,000 worth of damages to their hotel room. Holiday horror A BRITISH holidaymaker has been hospitalised after plunging off a seafront cliff while snapping a selfie in Mallorca. The unnamed man, who is reportedly 38 years old, plummeted more than three metres near the Puig de Ros housing
estate in Llucmajor, after a rock he was standing on gave way. He had been staying at a nearby hotel with friends and was rescued by firefighters after a witness raised the alarm. Although conscious, he told onlookers he thought he had
broken both arms and a leg. Medics said he may have suffered spinal injuries and was in “a serious condition” after an ambulance took him to hospital in the island’s capital Palma, where he was expected to undergo surgery.

When security services inspected the room they reportedly found that the pair has destroyed the entire room with a telephone socket, hair dryer, desk, toilet, skirting boards and doors all seriously damaged. The damage is believed to have cost more than €2,000. And following a report from the hotel to the police, the two Brits were arrested and have now appeared in court.

Porreres shooter in court A 77-YEAR-OLD man who allegedly shot dead a member of a gang accused of attempting to rob his house has appeared in court on murder charges. Pau Rigo told the Manacor court he believed one of the accused knew he had a safe containing thousands in cash from his slot machine business inside his Porreres villa. The defendant added Jose Antonio SL, 44, worked at his company and that he was later the mastermind of the alleged attempted robbery. The court heard from Rigo that he did not want to kill anyone in response to his shooting of 25year-old Mauricio Escobar. He said he was “very scared” at the time of the break in and that he had been “very overcome” as a result of the situation.
