Water result THE La Concepcion reservoir has reached near full capacity after weeks of above average rainfall, according to data from the regional Environment Board. The amount of water at the site is now estimated to be around 61 billion litres. The reservoir, which supplies most of the Costa del Sol, has had to drain about 7.12 billion litres, equivalent to the amount consumed in the province in a month.

THE expansion of the Tivoli amusement park in Arroyo de la Miel has been halted as a legal battle over the site rages on. Rafael Gomez, the owner of the Arenal 2000 company, sued the park’s buyers Tremon after claiming the company never completed the payment for it. Plans worth €300 million which were set to modernise the site have been unable to go ahead. The land title belongs to Tremon with management still in the hands of Gomez’s firm.

Forty-eight-year-old expat and chef, Anthony (Tony) Oldham hadn’t been seen since Friday March 23 in Plaza de España in Arroyo De la Miel, Benalmadena. Tony had been due to meet his fiancée Karen Lincoln in the afternoon but didn’t show. He had no money, no phone, no ID and only the clothes he was wearing. I’ve read your report that Tony’s been taken to the hospital, so I hope he gets well.” And Chloe Lincoln, Karen’s daughter, said: “I cannot even begin to describe our emotions at the moment. “But thanks to an amazing person who had seen the appeal, he brought Tony home safe and sound. “We just want to thank everyone so much for all of their help and support during this past week, you truly are incredible.
