Jumbo shock Elephant killed in horror crash Drivers were diverted from a motorway after a lorry bound for Murcia crashed and its cargo of elephants was left roaming around the road. One of the animals died and two were reportedly injured after the vehicle overturned between kilometres 22 and 23 of the A-30 near Pozo Cañada, Albacete on Monday evening. The driver was not hurt. Photographs and video footage appeared to show the Indian elephants roaming freely along the road. One of the circus elephants seemed to be lying by the roadside struggling to get up. It is unclear if that was the animal that later died. Pozo Cañada Council has since sheltered the elephants in an enclosure where the authority said they would be safe while the injured animals recovered. They will remain there for three to four days, the

time,” he said. Silvia Barquero, president of the PACMA animal rights group, said: “If we do not stop circuses the animals will once again have a life of misery.”

One dead after crash A 52-YEAR-OLD man has died after his motorcycle collided with a car in Zarandona. The incident occurred on the Camino Viejo de Monteagudo in Zarandona, Murcia, which also injured the man’s companion, a woman in her 20’s. Two ambulances attended the incident, but the man was found unconscious and bleeding from various parts of his body and was later pronounced dead at the scene.
