Prisoner escapes on way to hospital An inmate from the Sangonera La Verde Prison became the subject of a police search after reportedly fleeing from custody while being taken for hospital treatment. The prisoner, convicted of drug offences, escaped shortly before being taken into the Emergency Department of the Virgen de la Arrixaca hospital in Murcia at around 2pm last Saturday. Police said a search operation had been active since then but refused to provide further details, according to reports. The inmate, who reportedly has a lengthy criminal record, told prison workers he felt a pain in his foot before the transfer. Total balls up AN elderly man has been rescued by firefighters after an unfortunate incident at a hotel in Torrevieja. According to reports, the man was taking a shower using a chair to aid himself at a hotel in Torrevieja when he found that he had become trapped in the chair. The man, who reportedly suffers from senile dementia, became stuck when one of his testicles became trapped in a slit of a seat in the shower. Emergency services were called to the scene, with firefighters reportedly having to break the plastic of the chair in order to release the trapped testicle.
