GONE SWIMMING: The beached Mercedes.

Not sea-ing straight by Benjamin Park A car has been left abandoned on the Agua Amarga beach after being driven into the sea. Alicante Fire Prevention and Rescue Service (SPEIS) were called in to remove the car after it was allegedly driven six metres out from the shore. Once on the scene, firefighters worked to move the Mercedes onto the beach with the

help of a guide wire, before it was eventually removed by a crane. The incident is still being investigated by Local Police in Alicante but first indications reportedly show that the driver left the car by his own means. Local Police also reportedly believe that the driver of the vehicle may have been drinking and took the individual to undergo a breathalyser test.

Six week deadline T H E 11 - y e a r- o l d g i r l who gave birth at the Hospital Virgen de La Arrixaca has reportedly been given six weeks to decide whether she wants to put the baby up for adoption. Both the girl and the family have allegedly expressed willingness to give up the guardianship of the baby that is believed to have been fathered by her 14year-old brother. According to Spanish media, the child has been separated from its mother for the time being and is currently living with a foster family. The family is reportedly still awaiting the outcome of DNA tests to confirm who the father of the child is.
