The tours will be conducted on Sunday starting at 10.30am and will take in the central and main galleries running under the Paseo de Almeria which have been reconstructed in memory of the man and the civil war itself. Tickets for this special opening cost €4 and can be booked at the municipal tourist office. O n S a t u r d a y, v i s i tors will be invited to join in on a gastronomic tour costing just €2 with special attention to the products so important to the region including fruit, vegetables, meat and oil.

LA MUELA: Scene of the accident where the hikers were rescued.

Two rescued in Sierra Larga

Help for hikers Two hikers have been rescued following a fall in Sierra Larga. Both the Guardia Civil and the Environment Agency collaborated to help the outdoor enthusiasts, one of whom had suffered a fractured shoulder as he fell during a controlled

descent whilst making their way up the hill of La Muela in Sierra Larga, Velez Blanco. Officers attended the scene following a call and administered immediate first aid at the scene before the injured were transferred to Velez Rubio medical centre for treatment.

A campaign has been launched this summer #tencabeza (use your head) which promotes responsible behaviour among those on holiday, ensuring they respect other people and the environment around them in leisure and tourist areas.
