Rental prices rocket

Homeless man filmed before dying

A RECENT report places Marbella as one of the most expensive holiday rental destinations in Spain, with prices soaring to an average of €1,100 per week this summer. Independent research company Tecnitasa has analysed the rental prices of properties along the Costa del Sol and found that to enjoy a week on the Spanish coast will cost an average of €729, a €65 jump from last year and 30 per cent more than in 2014. In Malaga Province, prices soar to €1,300 in Puerto Banus although apartments can be found from €450 on the seafront of the capital. Ibiza, Sotogrande, Barcelona and Gerona have similarly expensive rental prices, all costing more than €1,100 per week. As Spain’s tourism industry grows stronger so will prices, with a 10 per cent annual hike now standard across much of the country.

The two men - extradited to Spain under a European Arrest Warrant - will remain behind bars until the trial ends into the mysterious circumstances of the death of alcoholic Steven Allford on a bench outside the airport railway station in October. He was found with his trousers pulled down, his genitals resting inside an empty tuna can, and with s lic e s of ha m on his e xposed buttocks plus plastic ties on his wrists and ankles. Mr Allford had been drinking a nd c hoke d to de a th, but a judge from Malaga’s Instructional Court concluded that the ties may have contributed by stopping him from moving.
