Case continues FOLLOWING the crash of a light aircraft in Velez-Malaga before the weekend, further details regarding the occupants of the Ran S-6ES Coyote single engine plane have come to light. ‘I confess’ Sex abuse teacher hands himself in By Matt Ford A teacher accused of sexually abusing three girls at a school in Torre del Mar, Malaga, has admitted committing a string of other offences. The 40-year-old man handed himself back into police a day after being released following an initial round of questioning. He claimed an overwhelming sense of guilt had forced him to return. After his initial arrest he was questioned and bailed, but told investigators it was

then that he experienced “a change in conscience.” He returned to police headquarters and told detectives he had a problem and needed treatment for it. During a lengthy second interview at the provincial police headquarters, he reportedly admitted abusing a number of other girls, aged either 10 or 11, at other schools in Malaga Province and beyond. The teacher, who is married with children, told officers he was mentally ill and wanted to go to jail to be

cured. The man has now been remanded in custody pending a trial. Police were alerted to his offences after receiving a tipoff from the mother of one of his victims. At the school, El Custodio Puga, he was put under observation by other members of staff and at one stage was found alone with a girl in an area that was not used for teaching. During his first court appearance the prosecution said he would be investigated in relation

to five specific cases. The news of his confession has raised alarm among parents at the school, while regional Education councillor, Patricia Alba, said the man had committed “disgusting acts which have no place in our schools.”
