Beach death mystery By Matthew Elliott The death of a British woman on Mojacar’s Indalo beach is being investigated by the Spanish authorities. Lyn Davies’ body was found by a walker at around 10am on Saturday November 12. They immediately called the emergency services and Local Police, the Guardia Civil and medics were soon at the scene. There were no signs of violence or foul play and, at the time of writing, the Vera court charged with working out what caused her death has not revealed its findings. It is understood that Ms Davies was

in her late 50s and had an elderly mother at home in England. She had been travelling around Spain by herself but Euro Weekly News (EWN) has been told her physical and mental health were giving cause for concern. EWN spoke to the owner of Mojacar’s Pension La Esperanza where she stayed for the 10 days prior to her death. He said Ms Davies had been in a bad way, that she had been ejected from another premises outside Mojacar and initially arrived with enough money to stay only for five days. Staff had subsequently taken pity on

her, he said, and allowed Ms Davies, whom he described as ”skin and bones,” to stay longer. On Friday evening she left the pension at around 9.30pm, ignoring warnings from staff who warned her that it was cold outside. She said she would be fine but no alarm was raised when she didn’t return as she reportedly suffered from frequent insomnia. Less than 12 hours later she was dead. It has not yet been revealed where Ms Davies came from or whether she intended to return to the UK after finishing her journey round Spain.
