Mojacar joins the fight against gender violence FORTY-EIGHT women have died in Spain so far this year INTERNATIONAL Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women was yesterday (Wednesday 25). Although most of Almeria and indeed many Spanish towns and villages have already held events to mark the day, those wishing to join in who were caught unawares can head for Mojacar tomorrow to join the cause. From 5pm onwards Mojacar Town Hall officials and members of the public will be gathering at the Edificio de Usos Multiples for a march against violence under the slogan ‘Against Violence, Zero Tolerance’ due to set off towards La Fuente at 5.20pm. A minute of silence will be followed by the reading of a manifesto against gender violence and various activities will then be held to raise awareness of the need to put an end to the abuse, which has resulted in 48 women dying in Spain at the hands
