Airport chaos threat
Sparkling Benidorm Council pledges to smarten up the town Benidorm is to be put into tiptop shape for the expected hordes of summer visitors
The second series of summer strikes by Barcelona’s air traffic controllers will take place on July 11 and 12 and again on July 25 and 26 following a collapse in negotiations between the trades union and airport authorities. The air traffic controllers union USCA has confirmed that a further two strikes will last from 10am to 1pm and again from 5pm until 8pm on the designated days. Alicante-Elche International Airport, with 80 per cent of its air traffic passing through Barcelona air space, was particularly affected by the last strikes on Monday June 8, 10, 12 and 14.
