A man who kidnapped and murdered a British couple in a case that hit the UK headlines has been recaptured after he went on the run while out on day release. Venezuelans Jorge Real Sierra and his brother-in-law Juan Antonio Velazquez Gonzalez were convicted in 2006 after kidnapping and murdering the couple in Alicante in 2002. Anthony and Linda O’Malley, aged 42 and 55, from Llangollen in Wales, were househunting in Benidorm in September 2002, when they were lured to a villa in Alcoy by Sierra and Gonzalez. They were forced to empty their bank accounts of £25,000 and eventually killed and buried in cement in the cellar of the villa after an ordeal that lasted a week.
