By Jan Gamm ALICANTE-ELCHE Airport has been assessed as one of the worst affected by the air traffic controllers’ strikes. An estimated 30,000 passengers were delayed by the action that took place on

Monday June 8 when air traffic controllers walked out from 10am to 12pm and again from 6pm to 8pm. At the start of the busiest season of the year, the strikes are now causing maximum disruption and inconvenience.

Air traffic controllers are complaining about working conditions but have little support as some can be paid up to 50 times the average wage. More strikes are planned for tomorrow (Friday) and Sunday June 14 from 10am-12pm and from 6-8pm.
