Give a dog a home By Gemma Quinn THE expatriate community is being called upon to help build kennels for a dogs’ home after the charity was evicted to make way for a golf course. One of the longest running animal charities in the Vega Baja area, SAT Animal Rescue, is building a new facility in San Isidro. SAT President Dave Moor is appealing to local residents, businesses and corporate investors to help fund the build, after a long and difficult struggle to get all the necessary licences in place. A major fudraising drive is under way to secure the future of hundreds of dogs in the Vega Baja. “We are wanting to have around €50,000 before we can start the

actual building of the kennels and have raised €11,000 so far,” he explained. To date the charity has re-homed more than 7,400 dogs and its general running costs are

around €16,000 a month. If you can help sponsor a kennel or would like to ‘buy a brick’, contact SAT now on 966 710 047 or email info@satanimalrescue.com.
