received 2,208 votes out of 7,000, to gain second place in the survey behind Las Hurdes in Caceres.
Almeria Airport schedules winter season destinations ALMERIA Airport is providing 18 destinations during the 2014/2015 winter season, including seven international connections. In total, airlines have scheduled more than 110,300 seats on 1,100 flights until March 28, 2015. Regular flights to London and Brussels will be maintained as well as domestic routes like Barcelona, Madrid, Sevilla, Palma de Mallorca and Melilla. Some international destinations will run for several weeks but not the entire season; for example, Birmingham, Dublin, Manchester and Nottingham. Three new domestic routes begin for the winter: Bilbao, Santander and Zaragoza.
The Tabernas Desert is enjoying a revival in the movies currently, with film epics including Exodus and Clavius being shot there, and Arnold Schwarzenegger looking to reprise his former role as Conan the Barbarian. From 1950 to 1970, it was the setting for many Westerns. With more than 11,600 acres, the desert was declared a nature reserve in 1989. The other rural wonders in Spain were Ca単on del Rio Lobos in Burgos, Playa de las Catedrales in Lugo, Nacedero del Rio Urederra in Navarra, Aiguestortes National Park in Lleida, and the Benasque Valley in Huesca.
