AIRPORT NOISE: Homes near El Altet being soundproofed.
123 families to get a quieter home life By EWN Costa Blanca North Newsdesk MORE than €.5 million is to be spent soundproofing another 123 homes near El Altet Airport. This will increase the number of properties soundproofed by AENA against the noise of planes taking off and landing to 1,870.
To date 1,747 properties, including schools, have been modified at the expense of state-owned AENA, the airport authority. Soundproofing for the additional properties was recently approved by a committee of representatives from AENA, local town halls and regional and central government officials. The same committee has also
passed the €595,831 budget allocation to cover the cost of work on the properties including paperwork showing that soundproofing has been carried out. The Ministry of Public Works has in total assigned €27.4 million in a national soundproofing programme for homes, hospitals and schools affected by nearby airports.
