Mixed summer sales as traders fight VAT THE summer sales for traders on the Costa Blanca were mixed. Not even the VAT increases which led to higher prices gave rise to an extra business surge before their introduction on September 1. But some traders told EWN that the summer sales while not brilliant - were reasonable. The president of the Association Corazón de Alicante reported “between 30 and 35 per cent fewer sales compared to last summer. “It has been the worst summer since the economic crisis,” he said. • Turn to Page 4
