A YOUNG man thrown out of a nightclub for smoking tried to get his revenge by driving at high speed at the establishment’s doors before braking at the last moment. Pedestrians had to jump out of his way when he apparently targeted the Mosaic Music Club’s bouncers for having the temerity of ordering him off the premises for lighting up inside. It would appear that the 23-year-old man believed he had the right to do anything after hiring a VIP booth at the Estepona club. As he was ordered out he allegedly started to threaten the staff, saying phrases such as ‘you are going to find out’ and ‘you do not know who I am.’ A few minutes later a rented Mercedes with its number plate covered started speeding along a pedestrian area next to the club. Two people had

consistent with hitting the taxi. A young man the next day reported the car stolen - but police saw he had the same name as the man who had booked the VIP area. During investigations witnesses identified him as the driver of the car, and others had seen him

Two Spaniards, aged 27 and 44, have since been traced and arrested after a burned out vehicle, believed to be the stolen van, was found in an industrial estate in Cadiz. According to a police source, the victim was travelling through the Arroyo de La Cala in Estepona at about 5.30pm, when he was approached by ‘some people’ wearing reflective

vests who got out of two cars. A source said that ‘after assaulting the victim, all his personal effects were stolen, as well as the van, owned by the company for which he worked, and all the merchandise he had just collected in a nearby house.’ Tw e n t y - f o u r h o u r s l a t e r t h e burned out van was discovered, together with textiles, two mobile phones, a balaclava, metal tensors, a pair of gloves, and two vehicles, all thought to have been used during the robbery.
