AN elderly woman has been stopped by police after recklessly driving in the opposite direction down a motorway. The tourist was travelling on Sunday morning between Estepona and San Pedro, but took the wrong slip road. She drove several kilometres in heavy rain before being intercepted by police. The woman passed several vehicles, including trucks, which had to make sudden manoeuvres to avoid a collision. After being notified by other drivers, the Local Police of Estepona alerted their Marbella colleagues who stopped the offending car before an accident occurred.
