IntheGeneBEconprojectdifferentregulatoryoptionsforNGTderivedplantsintheEUhave been established to assess the implications of regulations on safetydata,adoptionratesandsocio-economicfactors.Analysis revealedthatadditionaldatarequirementscouldincreaseand potentiallyexceedthecostthatdevelopersareable,orwilling,to investforNGT-derivedplants.Moreinterestingoutputsofthe GeneBEcon project are to be expected in the next couple of months.
The EUCARPIA General Congress was a great meeting opportunityforresearchers,breeders,publicinstitutes,private companies, startups, and the diversity of topics, speakers and expertise was greatly appreciated.
