As there are various cultures in the European Union, cultural diversity has thus always been one of the European cornerstones in order to promote the intercultural dialogue between the different member states. For me it is consequently crucial that young European citizens learn to be receptive and open to other cultures and languages. I am therefore very honoured to patron the ETC flagship project „Young Europe 2: Multilingual Creation and Education in Theatre“ that promotes the access to culture through education and wish that this project encourages the intercultural and multilingual exchange among young people.” «La Culture libère la créativité et l’innovation. European theatre matters! “Young Europe 2” is an artistic education project developed under the umbrella of the European Theatre Convention (ETC) with the patronage of Mrs. Doris Pack, Member of the European Parliament and President of Committee on Education and Culture of the European Parliament. Founded in 1988, the European Theatre Convention is the leading pan-European network of public theatres in over 20 countries whose aims are to promote contemporary European theatre creation, artistic education and linguistic diversity in theatre. Central to ETC’s work is the support and international promotion of young European theatre talents, the mobility of artists through exchange programs, the creation of a platform for theatre education and drama schools as well as the initiation of new audience development strategies. The ETC is also a professional platform for theatre makers that encourages intercultural dialogue, organizes meetings, invests in education and training opportunities and initiates research and publications in the fields of translation. As member of the European civil society platforms “Access to Culture”, “Creative and Cultural Industries” and consortium partner of Politglotti4.eu, the ETC established a structured dialogue within the cultural sector and the European commission and presents pragmatic proposals that correspond to the theatrical reality in Europe today. Based in France, the ETC has opened in summer 2011 new offices at the Deutsches Theater Berlin in Germany and at the European House for Culture in Brussels, in Belgium.

Le théâtre européen, ça compte ! «Young Europe 2» est un projet d’éducation artistique développé sous l’égide de la Convention Théâtrale Européenne, et parrainé par Mme Doris Pack, députée européenne et Présidente de la Commission de la culture et de l‘éducation au Parlement européen. La Convention Théâtrale Européenne, fondée en 1988, est l’organisation paneuropéenne majeure représentant le secteur du théâtre public dans plus de 20 pays, et dont l’objet est de promouvoir la création théâtrale européenne contemporaine, l’éducation artistique et la diversité linguistique au théâtre. Au cœur du travail de la CTE, le soutien et la promotion à l’échelle internationale des jeunes talents théâtraux, la mobilité des artistes par le biais de programmes d’échange, la création d’une plateforme pour la formation supérieure au théâtre avec les écoles d’art dramatique, ainsi que l’initiation à des stratégies visant au développement de nouveaux publics. La CTE est également une plateforme professionnelle qui facilite le dialogue interculturel entre les professio nnels du théâtre, organise des conférences, investit dans l’éducation et la formation, participe à la recherche et à la production de publications dans le domaine de la traduction. Membre des plateformes de la société civile européenne «Accès à la culture», «Industries culturelles et créatives» et partenaire du consortium «Politglotti4.eu», la CTE a mis en place un dialogue structuré entre le secteur culturel et la Commission européenne et présente ainsi des propositions pragmatiques qui correspondent à la réalité théâtrale en Europe aujourd’hui. THE YOUNG EUROPE 2 PROJECT (2011 – 2013) With “Young Europe 2” the ETC and its partner theatres aim to increase the access to culture through education and the access to education through culture enriching the lives of the participants to the benefit of the well-being of each individual and also to provide growth for our society in general. “It is better than a movie and better than normal education” (16 year old student, Young Europe 1) For the 2nd time, the ETC develops with the support of the Culture Programme of the European Commission the 2 year European artistic education project: “Young Europe 2: Multilingual Creation and Education in Theatre” with the aim to establish a European multilingual drama repertoire for young people, focusing on artistic education through theatre and multilingualism in theatre. Based on the successful first project edition, which was attended from 2008 – 2010 by over 20 000 young people in 8 countries, “Young Europe 2” takes place until autumn 2013 offering young theatre professionals and adolescents across Europe to work and create across multilingual borders. 8 ETC member theatres in 7 countries (Cyprus, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, The Netherlands, Norway) commission four new plays written with the support of young people and produce seven new performances that are translated into eight languages to be staged and circulated in European schools and theatres. “Young Europe 2“ carries the ambition to further enhance the development of a European drama repertoire for young audiences, to exchange best European working practices in theatre, to provide international working opportunities for young artists and to lay the grounds for sustainable relationships between theatres and schools in complementing the artistic education curricula. A conference and a festival with a Young Europe Talent Campus will be part of the project offering a joint platform for all project participants to exchange and build long lasting relations beyond their national working environment on a European level. The conference will take place from May 22 – 24 2012 at the Miskolc National Theatre in Hungary and will open a space for debates between experts of artistic education and theatre partners who will have the opportunity to share their experiences. The 2nd Young Europe festival with the 1st Young Europe Talent Campus will take place from May 13 – 17 2013 in partnership with Theater an der Parkaue, Germany’s only state theatre for children and young people based in Berlin. During one week, all seven performances will be staged. Theatre professionals, educators, stakeholders and interested theatre goers will meet, and share during debates and workshops best practice examples together with the project teams and the participating young people from the different countries. 8

LE PROJET YOUNG EUROPE 2 (2011 – 2013) Avec «Young Europe 2», la CTE et ses théâtres partenaires ont pour objectif de développer l’accès à la culture par l’éducation et l’accès à l’éducation par la culture et la diversité linguistique, pour que la vie de jeunes créateurs du théâtre et de milliers de jeunes en Europe soit enrichie. «C’était mieux que de regarder un film ou d’être en classe» (Élève de 16 ans ayant participé à Young Europe 1) La CTE renouvèle pour la 2ème fois pendant deux ans, avec le soutien du Programme Culture de la Commission européenne, le projet d’éducation artistique: «Young Europe 2 : Multilingual Creation and Education in Theatre» avec l’objectif de constituer, par des actions d’éducation artistique multilingues et théâtrales, un répertoire européen de pièces dramatiques multilingues pour le jeune public. Après le succès remporté lors de la 1ère édition qui a touché, entre 2008 et 2010, prés de 20 000 jeunes dans 8 pays, «Young Europe 2» va permettre à de jeunes professionnels du théâtre et à des adolescents à travers l’Europe de travailler et de créer au-delà des frontières linguistiques jusqu’à l’automne 2013. 8 théâtres membres de la CTE répartis dans 7 pays différents (Chypre, Finlande, France, Allemagne, Hongrie, Pays-Bas, Norvège) commissionnent quatre nouvelles pièces écrites avec la contribution de jeunes étudiants et produiront par la suite sept nouvelles mises en scène traduites en huit langues qui seront jouées dans les écoles et les théâtres en Europe. «Young Europe 2» a pour ambition de renforcer la création d’un répertoire dramatique européen pour le jeune public, d’échanger sur les meilleurs exemples de bonnes pratiques dans le théâtre, de fournir des opportunités de travail à l’international à de jeunes artistes et de mettre en place des relations durables entre les théâtres et les écoles en satisfaisant les critères fixés dans le cadre du programme d’action pour l’éducation artistique. Une conférence et un festival ainsi qu’un Young Europe Talent Campus seront les rendez-vous importants de ce projet, qui permettront aux participants de se rencontrer pour échanger et construire des relations durables dans un contexte européen, au-delà de leur environnement national. La conférence se déroulera du 22 au 24 mai 2012 au Miskolc National Theatre en Hongrie et inaugurera une première série de débats entre des experts de l’éducation artistique et les théâtres partenaires qui auront l’opportunité d’échanger sur leurs expériences. La 2ème édition du festival Young Europe et le 1er Young Europe Talent Campus auront lieu du 13 au 17 mai 2013 en collaboration avec le Theater an der Parkaue, unique théâtre d’état allemand jeune public à Berlin. Les sept pièces seront présentées tout au long de la semaine. Des professionnels du théâtre, pédagogues, décideurs politiques et public avisé se rencontreront et partageront avec les équipes artistiques du projet et les jeunes participants des différents pays les exemples de bonnes pratiques au cours de nombreux ateliers et de débats. 9

YOUNG EUROPE 2 theatre co-productions / Les coproductions théâtrales de YOUNG EUROPE 2 Together, the project partners initiate four theatre collaborations to be developed by eight theatres producing seven new plays written and translated into eight languages to be staged and circulated in European schools and theatres as of Autumn 2012. Les partenaires du projet initient quatre collaborations théâtrales développées par 8 théâtres qui produiront ensemble 7 nouvelles pièces écrites et traduites en huit langues, puis jouées et adaptées dans les écoles et les théâtres en Europe à partir de l’automne 2012. Cyprus Theatre Organisation (THOC) – Nicosia, Cyprus / Nicosie, Chypre & Miskolc National Theatre – Miskolc, Hungary / Hongrie Project description / description du projet Each theatre will recruit 30-50 young people, from 12 to 18 years old to participate in workshops animated by professionals during which they will collect their impressions on the concept of mischief and the issue of multilingualism and communication. The starting point is a Cypriot folk tale about the “Kalikantziaroi”, whose stories and feats were communicated to the participants of the workshops in person by researcher Hambis Tsangaris in Cyprus, and through his research materials and books in Hungary. The feedback from the workshops will inspire the Hungarian playwright to write a play for youth, intended to be performed as a classroom play. During the project, the questions related to multilingualism, language learning, communication between cultures and communities, cultural diversity and tradition will be raised and commented on. Chaque théâtre recrute un groupe composé de 30 à 50 jeunes, âgés de 12 à 18 ans qui participent à des ateliers animés par des professionnels du théâtre afin de collecter leurs impressions sur la malice et l’espièglerie tout en abordant la question du multilinguisme et de la communication dans nos sociétés. Le point de départ est le conte populaire chypriote: “Kalikantzaroi” dont l’histoire et les exploits ont été communiqués auparavant aux participants, en personne, par le chercheur chypriote Hambis Tsangaris, d’après ses travaux de recherche et ses livres en Hongrie. Les observations collectées pendant les ateliers guideront l’auteur hongrois dans l’écriture d’une pièce pour le jeune public destinée à être jouée dans les salles de classe. Durant le projet, les questions liées au multilinguisme, à l’apprentissage des langues, à la communication entre les cultures et les communautés, à la diversité culturelle et les traditions seront abordées et commentées.

Theatre partners presentation / Présentation des théâtres partenaires Cyprus Theatre Organisation (Theatrikos Organismos Kyprou), Nicosie, Cyprus / Nicosie, Chypre The Cyprus Theatre Organisation, founded in 1971, is one of the most important cultural organizations in Cyprus, being both the State Theatre and the Theatre Development Department responsible with matters such as the allocation of State theatre subsidies. It was founded by law and its aim is to “promote the art of theatre in Cyprus and to cultivate a sense of theatre among the people, and to promote artistic relations between the theatre world of Cyprus and that of Greece and other countries”. With a long experience in productions (four stages covering all repertory including a Children’s stage), THOC has an ensemble of 24 actors with a number of guest artists from Cyprus and abroad. L’organisation théâtrale chypriote, fondée en 1971, est l’un des centres culturels majeur basé à Chypre, qui répond à la dénomination de théâtre national mais également de Centre de développement théâtral chargé de distribuer les fonds publics dans ce domaine. Son fondement juridique et sa mission portent sur : «la promotion de l’art théâtral chypriote, le développement d’une sensibilité théâtrale auprès de toutes les générations, ainsi que le renforcement des échanges artistiques internationaux». THOC est constitué de 4 scènes dont une dédiée aux spectacles pour le jeune public. 23 comédiens composent le répertoire et le théâtre invite régulièrement des artistes de l’étranger. National Theatre of Miskolc, Miskolc, Hungary / Hongrie The Miskolc National Theatre was the very first Hungarian-speaking stone-built theatre of the country built in 1823, and it has been operating since then over 180 years becoming “one of the most progressive theatre-complexes in Hungary” with good reason: on its 16,000 square meters, on five stages every theatrical dream can come true. Artistic activities focus to seek out young talents, authors, theatrical creators and to map new possibilities for theatrical idioms; to guarantee a place for contemporary playwrights; and to offer young audiences theatrical experiences of classical and contemporary works of great importance in creative and improvisational forms. Le Théâtre National de Miskolc fut le premier théâtre de langue hongroise construit dans le pays en 1823. Opérant depuis 180 ans, le théâtre est devenu le lieu théâtral le plus progressiste en Hongrie, dont la surface atteint les 16 000 m2 et où les 5 scènes offrent une grande liberté à la mise en scène. Les projets artistiques cherchent à révéler les jeunes talents, les auteurs dramatiques, les créateurs de théâtre et à élaborer de nouvelles possibilités d’expressions théâtrales; à garantir une place privilégiée aux auteurs contemporains; et à offrir au jeune public par différentes actions créatives des expériences théâtrales classiques ou contemporaines de qualité.

Theater an der Parkaue – Berlin, Germany / Allemagne & Helsinki City Theatre – Helsinki, Finland / Finlande Project description / description du projet 8 young people from Berlin and Helsinki have written a common play using an online collaborative writing tool developed by Helsinki City Theater and Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences named Noodi. The play is written in English, and then translated into Finnish and German to be finally staged by artistic casts from both countries. The writing process has been driven by two theatre pedagogues, Emma Puikkonen, from Helsinki and Julia Schreiner, from Berlin under the theme of chaos. The German version will be staged by Sascha Bunge, the artistic director of the Theater an der Parkaue and the Finnish version by his colleague, Kari Rentola, artistic director of the Helsinki City Theatre. 8 jeunes venant de Berlin et Helsinki ont écrit en commun une pièce grâce à l’outil d’écriture collaborative en ligne «Noodi» développé par le Helsinki City Theatre et l’Université de Sciences Appliquées Helsinki Metropolia. La pièce est écrite en anglais et traduite en finlandais et en allemand pour être finalement jouée par les équipes artistiques des deux pays. Le travail d’écriture a été mené par deux pédagogues, Emma Puikkonen, venant de Helsinki et Julia Schreiner, de Berlin, autour de la thématique du chaos. La version allemande sera adaptée à la scène par Sascha Bunge, directeur artistique du Theater an der Parkaue et la version finlandaise sera mise en scène par son collègue Kari Rentola, directeur artistique du Helsinki City Theatre.

Theatre partners presentation / Présentation des théâtres partenaires Theater an der Parkaue, Berlin, Germany / Allemagne The Theater an der Parkaue, Berlin’s state theatre for young audiences since 1950, is the biggest state theatre of this kind in Germany. The Theater an der Parkaue stages more than 450 performances a year (including 12 – 15 new productions in each season) and presents the world of theatre in all its shapes and facets to its 100.000 annual visitors. Le «Theater an der Parkaue», théâtre pour enfant et adolescent fondé en 1950, est le plus important théâtre d’état pour jeunes en Allemagne. Il propose plus de 450 évènements artistiques (12 à 15 nouvelles créations par saison) offrant ainsi à ses 100 000 visiteurs une vision de toutes les facettes du monde du théâtre.

Helsinki City Theatre, Helsinki, Finland / Finlande The Helsinki City Theatre is a modern popular theatre and it is maintained by the Helsinki Theatre Foundation. It aims to provide a diverse range of performances, which are of the highest possible standard, to as many people as possible. An extensive range of family theatre performances, the productions of its own Dance Company and a diverse range of Finnish and foreign drama, comedies and musicals, performed in Finnish or in Swedish, are central to the programme of the Helsinki City Theatre. Le Helsinki City Theatre est un théâtre populaire moderne, soutenu par la Fondation théâtrale d’Helsinki. Sa mission est de fournir une large gamme de représentations de qualité à un public aussi large que possible. Le programme concentre de nombreuses représentations familiales, les productions de la compagnie de danse du théâtre, des pièces finlandaises et étrangères, des pièces comiques et des comédies musicales jouées en finlandais ou en suédois.

Det Norske Teatret – Oslo, Norway / Norvège & De Toneelmakerij – Amsterdam, The Netherlands / Pays-Bas Project description / description du projet Based on creative contributions of young people about their dreams, fears and future, the Dutch playwright, Oscar van Woensel, will write a play staged by the young Danish, Norwegian based director, Jonas Corell Petersen (Award winning ‘Best emerging European director ‘of the 1st Fast Forward Festival in 2011 ). 4 actors from Norway and The Netherlands will stage the play, with premieres taking place in winter 2013. Se basant sur la contribution créative de jeunes élèves, l’auteur néerlandais Oscar van Woensel est chargé de l’écriture de la pièce en faisant intervenir les jeunes sur la question des valeurs de notre société. La pièce est par la suite mise en scène par le jeune metteur en scène danois, basé en Norvège, Jonas Corell Petersen (gagnant du prix récompensant le «meilleur metteur en scène européen émergeant» lors du 1er festival Fast Forward en 2011). Quatre comédiens venant de Norvège et des Pays-Bas produisent la pièce dont la première aura lieu durant l’hiver 2013.

Theatre partners presentation / Présentation des théâtres partenaires Det Norske Teatret, Oslo, Norway / Norvège The Norwegian Theatre is Norway‘s largest dramatic centre founded in 1913. The repertoire profile is first and foremost that of a Norwegian/Nordic theatre with more than half of the plays performed have been written by Nordic authors. Besides this tradition, Det Norske Teatret has followed modern European drama closely and represents on its 3 stages contemporary theatre, classics, musicals and international drama. Since 2008, Det Norske Teatret develops also a drama repertoire for young people and its young community in building relationships with local schools. Le théâtre norvégien, fondé en 1913, est le centre dramatique le plus important en Norvège. Le répertoire attache une grande importance aux auteurs norvégiens qui écrivent la moitié des pièces produites par le théâtre mais le Det Norske Teatret montre aussi un grand intérêt pour la création contemporaine européenne. Depuis 2008, le Det Norske Teatret développe un répertoire dramatique pour le jeune public et la jeune communauté en intégrant les écoles locales dans des projets communs. De Toneelmakerij, Amsterdam, The Netherlands / Pays-Bas The theatre company “De Toneelmakerij” is the Nederlands‘ largest repertory company for children, young adults and adults. The starting point of all its performances is a young public‘s perspective: how would a child experience this, what does this mean to today‘s youth? Newly written texts and compositions and openness for new forms of theatre have central roles in their work. Humour, musicality and the pleasure of acting are the building blocks. The result? Multidisciplinary and socially involved performances for the theatre stage and schools, for young and old from all corners of the country. La compagnie de théâtre «De Toneelmakerij» a le répertoire de pièce le plus important des PaysBas destiné aux enfants, jeunes adultes et adultes. Chaque représentation intègre la perception du jeune public: comment réagit un enfant, comment la jeunesse d’aujourd’hui reçoit-elle ce genre de pièce? Leurs nouveaux textes et compositions intègrent les nouvelles formes théâtrales. L‘humour, la musique, le plaisir de jouer sont la base de leurs spectacles. Il en résulte la création de pièces multidisciplinaires qui ont un rôle social dans la société pour les théâtres et les écoles, destinés au jeune public venant de tout le pays.

Théâtre Jeune Public – Strasbourg, France & Badisches Staatstheater – Karlsruhe, Germany / Allemagne Project description / description du projet The Junges Staatstheater of the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe and the Théâtre Jeune Public de Strasbourg work together on the creation of a new theatre play. The project has been impulsed by the French philosoph, Philippe Choulet and the German philosoph, Kristin Marek and nourished by young people from Germany and France. The performance is staged by Grégoire Callies, with the participation of two actors from France and Germany, which will endorse the role of two Europeans. The performance will tour in France and Germany and should be understood in both countries, which means the play will be bilingual. Improvisation, as a working tool will launch the creative process. The play will unveal different facets of Europe. Although political critics will have an important place in the play, Grégoire Callies is dreaming of an hoping Europe. He wants to address those issues to his audience, and raise questions. Le TJP de Strasbourg travaille main dans la main avec le Junges Staatstheater Karlsruhe à la création d’un nouveau spectacle. Le projet a été porté par un philosophe de chaque pays (Philippe Choulet pour la France et Kristin Marek pour l’Allemagne) et nourri par de jeunes français et allemands. Le spectacle est mis en scène par Grégoire Callies, ancien directeur du Théâtre Jeune Public (TJP), accompagné de deux comédiens, une française et un allemand, dans le rôle de deux européens. Le spectacle est destiné à être joué en France et en Allemagne et devra être compris dans les deux pays et sera donc parfaitement bilingue. L’improvisation sera un premier outil de travail pour lancer le processus de création. La pièce consistera donc à dévoiler différents tableaux de l’Europe. Bien que la critique politique soit plus que jamais présente, Grégoire Callies rêve d’une Europe qui espère. Il cherche à toucher son public par un propos stimulant le questionnement.

Theatre partners presentation / Présentation des théâtres partenaires Théâtre Jeune Public / CDN D‘Alsace, Strasbourg, France The “Théâtre Jeune Public de Strasbourg/ Centre Dramatique National d’Alsace,” founded in 1974 by André Pomarat became a National Centre for Drama in 1991. The theatre is not only a theatre for young people but also a theatre to promote the creation of theatre plays with puppets. Artistic actions, workshops, and small theatre interventions are an essential part of their productions. Each year in March, the TJP hosts the “Festival des Giboulées de la Marionnette,” bringing together the best puppet creations today. Le «Théâtre Jeune Public de Strasbourg/Centre Dramatique National d’Alsace», créé en 1974 par André Pomarat devient Centre Dramatique National en 1991. Le Théâtre met la création et la défense de l’art de la marionnette au coeur du projet. Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, Karlsruhe, Germany / Allemagne The Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, founded at the court of the Grand Duke of Baden in 1719, is one of the largest theatres in Germany, presenting a wide repertory of opera, ballet, drama and concert with own resident companies in all departments and over 750 performances. A theatre well known for finding new, talented voices and developing them carefully. The “Junges Staatstheater”, has been created recently to coordinate and develop all youth activities. Le Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, fondé sous le Grand-duché de Bade en 1719, constitue l’un des plus grands théâtres en Allemagne, et propose un programme mariant opéra, ballets, pièces de théâtres concerts, donné par les compagnies résidentes, pour un total de 750 représentations par an. Conference Young Europe 2: Multilingual Creation and Education in Theatre : Conférence Young Europe 2 : Multilingual Creation and Education in Theatre : Introducing European standards in artistic education organized by the European Theatre Convention and the Miskolc National Theatre from May 22 – 24, 2012, Miskolc, Hungary Introduire de nouveaux standards européens d’éducation artistique organisée par la Convention Théâtrale Européenne et le Théâtre National de Miskolc Du 22 au 24 mai 2012 à Miskolc en Hongrie The artistic education conference of “Young Europe 2” suspends the creative process during two days in order to prepare the grounds for new European standards in artistic education and to formulate a first series of recommendations which will be revised during the final milestone, the 2nd Young Europe festival taking place from May 13 – 17 2013 at the Theater an der Parkaue (Berlin). The ETC will share the results with partner organizations of the structured dialogue platform of the European Commission and the civil society “Access to Culture” and will present them to stakeholders. La conférence du projet d’éducation artistique «Young Europe 2» suspend le processus créatif pendant deux jours pour poser les jalons de nouveaux modèles européens d’éducation artistique et formuler une série de premières recommandations qui seront retravaillées au cours du festival de clôture du 13 au 17 mai 2013 au Theater an der Parkaue (Berlin). La CTE diffusera les comptes rendus de la conférence à l’ensemble des organisations partenaires engagées dans la plateforme de dialogue structuré « Accès à la Culture » entre la Commission européenne et la société civile ainsi qu’aux parties prenantes.

The Speakers / les intervenants Patrice Baldwin (UK) is president of the International Drama Theatre and Education Association (IDEA) and Chair of National Drama, the leading UK professional association for drama and theatre educators. She has also been a successful Headteacher and arts adviser and inspector previously. She has also worked for BBC Education as a scriptwriter and drama consultant. Patrice is a prolific educational author in relation to drama, theatre, creativity and imagined experience as a way of learning. She now works freelance in schools, theatres, universities and museums as well as for local authorities and Arts Council England. Patrice Baldwin préside IDEA (International Drama Theatre and Education Association) et l’association professionnelle pour la formation des éducateurs dramatiques en Grande-Bretagne (National Drama). Proviseure reconnue, conseillère artistique et inspectrice, Patrice Baldwin a également travaillé en tant que chroniqueuse et conseillère artistique pour BBC Education. Elle a également écrit plusieurs ouvrages sur l’art dramatique, le théâtre, la créativité et l’imagination comme outil d’apprentissage. Elle travaille à présent en free-lance dans les écoles, théâtres, universités et musées ainsi que pour l’administration publique au sein du Arts Council en Angleterre. Adam Cziboly (HU) is a psychologist, cultural manager and drama educator. He led the project “DICE” (Drama Improves Lisbon Key Competences in Education – www.dramanetwork.eu) with the participation of 12 partner organisations, the first in-depth research measuring the impact of educational theatre and drama on Lisbon key competencies. He has been the strategic leader of Káva Drama / Theatre in Education Association, has worked in the field of advocacy for drama education both in Hungary and at EU level, has organised master classes of drama education, facilitated national and international drama projects and trainings for organisations as well. Author / editor of almost 100 publications in the field, incl. the book “The DICE has been cast” that has been translated to 15 languages so far. Adam Cziboly est psychologue, chargé de projet culturel et animateur théâtral. Il a mené le projet DICE (Drama Improves Lisbon Key Competences in Education – www.dramanetwork.eu) avec 12 organisations partenaires dont l’objectif était de réaliser une enquête de fond sur l’impact du théâtre et de l’art dramatique dans l’éducation sur les compétences clés de Lisbonne. Il a dirigé le «Kava Drama / Theatre in Education association» et a travaillé à l‘élaboration de nouveaux programmes d‘éducation dramatique en Hongrie mais aussi au niveau européen. Il a également organisé des masters classes sur l’éducation dramatique et a facilité l’organisation de projets et de stages dramatiques nationaux et internationaux. Steven Clark (FR) lives and teaches English and Theatre Studies in a Normandy high school. He also trains language teachers in using drama. His main area of expertise for 25 years has been to develop school exchanges based on drama projects, also setting up courses and workshops for drama teachers and theatre artists. He has also been asked to organize intercultural exchanges both inside Europe and with other regions of the world, combining good practices in drama teaching and linguistic diversity. He was recently teaching at the University of Rouen, inside the teachers initial training department. He is a member of several scientific committees, all devoted to research in the didactics of foreign languages through Theatre Arts. Steven Clark enseigne l‘anglais et les études théâtrales dans un lycée normand. Il forme également des enseignants à maîtriser les techniques de l‘art dramatique. Depuis 25 ans, son principal domaine de compétence est de développer des échanges entre les écoles autour de projets d‘art dramatique, tout en développant des formations et des cours pour les enseignants des classes théâtre et les artistes. Il a également été chargé d‘organiser des échanges interculturels en Europe mais aussi dans d‘autres régions du monde, tout en combinant les exemples de bonnes pratiques dans l‘art dramatique et la diversité linguistique. Il a enseigné récemment à l’Institut Universitaire de Formation des Maîtres de Haute-Normandie. Il est membre de plusieurs comités scientifiques, axés sur la didactique des langues étrangères dans l‘art du théâtre. Sophia Stepf (DE): Since 1992 Sophia writes and stages contemporary plays on the friction between globalisation, cultural identities, and localities with the company Flinntheater. She has devised perfomances with comissioned texts by Indian writers and has won several prices for her 2009 play India Simulator. Since 2003, Sophia has been developing and curating theatre projects for the Goethe-Institut MMB in India and a number of international festivals (Theater der Welt 2005, Vienna Festwochen 2007, Linz 09). In 2007 Sophia founded Culture for Competence with Anja Schütze and regularly conducts seminars and workshops on theatre, performance and transcultural competence. Depuis 1992, Sophia écrit et met en scène des pièces contemporaines avec la compagnie de théâtre «Flinntheater». Elle a également adapté à la scène des textes écrits par des auteurs indiens et a remporté plusieurs prix pour la mise en scène de la pièce „India Simulator“ en 2009.
